I'm thinking of making a homemade bong just for shits but I don't know what to use as a stem and a bowl. I don't wanna go out and buy a bunch of stuff whats the most common things to use?
I would use a small metal tube, or the casing of a metal pin, then attach a wrench nut with a small whole on it. Heat up the metal stem and push it through the side of a bottle. If you want you could either make a carb, or just get two metal casings and have one as a slide. The screen is optional, and if you want a slide just attach one part of the pen or another pen then make sure the other one with the bowl can fit in and slide out.
