So I was in Kmart the other day and saw this glass oil candle, brought it home, started messing around with it and wound up turning it into an ashcatcher. Just used a BIG hollow, copper bolt of some sort as the bowl/top part of the downstem. Downstem is just a thin piece of PVC tube. Green Milk I like using it as a bubbler too . Thanks for checking it out
nice dude, that looks well-constructed! when using it as a bubbler, what did you use for the mouthpiece, and did you drill a carb?
Thanks, The hose that comes out of the bulb is a thick rubber, got it at Lowe's. There isn't a carb, I just twist the bolt (bowl) and pull it out; like pulling a slide out of a downstem.
Thanks..check out your local thrift shop...I always find a shitload of cheap glass vases/bottles that can be easily turned into a piece.
You should be okay with a pvc, but you should pick up a zebra brand metal pencil. Make great for downstems. Great nonetheless. I might do this.
Yea I know, it was really the only component I had handy..I plan on replacing it with something better..maybe a "Zebra Metal" pencil like Photographer suggested. Thanks for the suggestion, I'm actually about to go to Target to pick up some shit..and I'm going to see if they have those pencils . Well my only "bong" is a small 6 inch acrylic that I use sometimes..I just pull the downstem out of it and stick the hose that comes out of the ashcatcher into it. Fits airtight.
lol that bad boy deffinately looks the part pvc is toxic when heated lighters (bics or even family dollar crack torches) can get EXTREMELY HOT hot enough to produce toxic fumes from PVC that being said, you wont drop dead right away, unless you've been pounding rat poison... in which case you will drop dead within the near future and i'm really sorry about it.
the pvc piping is really bad for especially since yours is coming in direct contact with the hot smoke
