Long story short, pipe and grinder got stolen from my car. So I need a short term pipe for a little bit. Went to my local princess auto and picked up And a, Like the one Bottom row, second from the left. My question is, Is this safe to smoke? I notice when i put a lighter on it, black smoke comes off. I took this as melting paint or finish so I tried to burn it ff with a torch but nothing happened. Is it lighter fluid making the black smoke?
If its just that one piece its ganna get really hot and maybe burn you fingers when you try to smoke out of it. Did it only burn black the first time? or does it still do that every time you put a bic to it?
yeah it gets decently hot but not too fast.. it keeps burning black. I belive it is just the lighter fluid now and not the actual piece. The reason I think it is if anyone here has ever used a light bulb vape the lighter leaves the outside black and starts to smoke, but it can be easily wiped off. So if the black is just from the lighter, what is it?
i wouldnt smoke out of it ever. i wouldnt risk my health that much. i bet it is releasing all kinds of toxic fumes.

that black shit is carbon from the lighter fluid burning i think, the shit u can just wipe away but yea idk if id smoke out of it i work at a hardware store and brass fitting and piping n shit usually have oils and grease on um from manufacturing. not good to smoke probobly. if u really wana rip it id wash it real good and make sure its clean.
Judging from the picture and the fact that brass is used in most commercial applications as opposed to other kinds of metal with that color i would say its safe to smoke out of, if you feel yourself start to die pass on the next hit.
Dude, the black smoke has NOTHING to do with the metal itself. I made a bowl out of the EXACT same brass, and it works like a dream. The black stuff coming off is just the incomplete burning of the butane in the lighter. To explain, go and put your lighter up against something that obviously doesn't burn, like glass. Touch the actual orange part of the flame against the glass. Notice how black shit appears? Basically, don't worry about it. You're all good, toke up
Ive used that same hose fitting as a slide for bongs. shove it into a bic pen (before you all freak out, the flame is far enough away that the pen doesnt heat up enough to release toxins)and then put a standard size sharpie in a bottle. the bic pen fits perfectly into the sharpie and just add a rubber o-ring to make it air tight. check out my gallery and look at the one labled "Sober" it has that bowl piece on it.
