Just wondering if anyone has used silicone instead of tape or hot glue to build a bong? http://www.aqua-medic.com/products/Silicone.jpg
I've used Teflon tape before in my homemade bongs. It makes great seals and can be conformed easily to fill leaks. Also, it has good temperature characteristics ( -450F to +550F ) and is pretty inert.
I have used almost everything you can think of to seal a homemade bong. But since I've grown up I've been able to narrow the choices down to a few smart options. 1. Goop (automotive adhesive used for sealing tubes on motors so you know it works.) 2. High-Temp RTV silicone (also for use on engine repairs. 3. Like the other post I have used thread sealant tape or Teflon tape (works very well for tight fits.) Don't use glue or gum or electrical tape or anything that looks like it would be bad to burn.
