I know there are many materials that should never come in contact with a flame when your smoking... copper being one of them, but what if smoke just passes through the tubing? I was thinking about buying 10 or 20 feet of copper tubing and coiling it. Then dropping it into a 10g bucket. Have one end of the tubing come out the bottom and one end out the top... The idea being that I can now drop a bag of ice (maybe dry ice?) and water/salt into the bucket to super cool the smoke since the smoke would now have to travel 20' through sub-zero temps. Now my question is at what point is copper dangerous? Can I drop a glass stem and bowl piece straight into the copper tubing? Does the smoke simply oxidize the copper even though its not hot? If I can't drop it straight into the copper tubing what material should separate the two and how much separation should I have? Thanks
