I made a single 7-arm perc Bong with an ice chamber. my current slide (which I am currently borrowing from my bro) Is a piece of an old radio antenna, with some sort of pipe fitting securely fastened to the end of it. When placed into a plastic pen tube, it forms an airtight seal. I know metal isn't the greatest thing to smoke out of, But it serves the purpose. Does anyone know what else i could use as the bong stem that is easy to make and cheap? Im New Btw.
just go to a smoke shop and buy a glass slide/stem for like 10 bucks. Don't get a really nice one (unless you want to), just a simple glass bowl.
Either buy a glass downstem, or get some vinyl tubing from a hardware store. Its safe to smoke through and you can get any length and thickness you want!
Well the closest smoke shop is like a 2 hour drive away from me. And I thought about vinyl tubing. but what would i use for a bowl?
Do not even think about using plastic for any part of the bong. first off, it makes the hit so harsh, second its bad for you. just buy a glass bit and drill a beer bottle or something if you dont want to get fancy. aqua globes ftw.
Have you ever heard of an acrylic bong? They arent harsh.. unless you use plastic that releases chemicals (like PVC), or plastic that is being melted by the heat of the bowl. Otherwise there is no harshness in a plastic bong as long as the bowl is made from a safe material. As far as the bowl, look in the plumbing section, there should be a spot where there are various bins with various plumbing connectors and such, find one that looks like a bowl and that would fit in the tubing. Its hard to explain or find one, but if you look at the one on the bottom center of this pic, you will kind of get an idea of what it looks like: It's actually hollow within that threaded section on the left of the piece, and its all smooth too so its easy to clean and load. You would most likely just need a screen or something if the hole at the bottom is too big, but other than that they work pretty well for bowls. The type of metal is safe to smoke from and doesnt give any nasty taste (have used them MANY times personally with no issue), and they connect easily with the vinyl tubing to act as a removable bowl and downstem.
One of those is similar to what im using. I never knew That smoking from those was safe, But i have smoked out of them a lot. Now, i will need to make a carb hole in my bong to use the vinyl tube and pipe thing, correct?
Yeah you would probably have to make a carb, unless you found a piece that will simply slide into the tubing, but those are kind of hard to find. lol
