Would it work properly if you put the (socket) bowl on the top of a homemade plastic bottle bong and a pen tube on the side to draw the smoke from?
unless you added a vertical down pipe from the bowlpack to under your water level, then as long as the pen tube on the side is above the water level youd be fine
