Maybe some day I will make a glass bong, but for now I cannot really afford anything like that, so I made this "waterpipe" out of wood last month. I had to laminate like 7 boards together, then cut the block in half. Then I turned the top half and the bottom half seperately on the lathe. I stained it, waxed it, took a trip to the local headshop to pick up a downstem with bowl, and drilled a hole for it. I never really see many pictures of wooden bongs online, so maybe this will inspire others to try it out? Once you water proof the inside, it should be ready to hit for years to come, it might not live for ever.. but you know... there's that special feeling about smoking out of your own home made tools AMIRITE?
