Home-made bong improvments?

Well, you could do what I did. I made an ash catcher out of a 5 Hour Energy bottle. A Monster or Redbull shots bottle would also work. The way I made mine, I made a hole big enough in the top of the shots bottle so a pen tube would tightly fit. Got a small socket and attached it to a pen tube, and put it in the small bottle. Then got some small tubing and ran it from the top of the shots bottle, to the bottom of the main bottle. Heres some pics, and its sooo smooth. (Its the one on the left)

 

Yeah I just made a inline bong the other night. works great, real nice diffusion, surprisingly very little drag, my only problem is the lack of airflow due to a tiny hole in the socket bowl but can be easily fixed with a larger bowl. its legit though, been using it over my glass bubbler since it delivers smooth hits. I even connected my vape to it and man, I got ripped lol

 

best improvement would be to toss that and go buy yourself a real piece. How many hits does that last before it isn't air tight?

 

I had this kinda lame little bubbler laying around, looks like a tiny bong almost. Never really liked how it hit though.

Anyway, the bowl broke so I was just going to toss it, then I realized I had a slide from my first bong lying around that was about the same size. So I made a diffusing downstem from a pen casing, and put a bunch of beads in the bottom to diffuse the smoke more as it goes through them.

Little dude hits like a CHAMP now haha, definitely my go to piece till I get a new bong.

Here's my power aid bottle (32 oz)
with a bic pens as the stem
the bowl is a brass air hose mouth with an extra long stem
i ran some hot staples through the plastic stem and bent them over (then glued over them) as a stem screen



I think i'm graduating to a brass setup tommorrow out of a large mason jar

I live in a small town, without a head shop

I like the idea of the mason jar one, though i plan to use a storage container for my next bong

Reason being, I have the same bowlpiece in my bong, but with another brass piece stuck in the top, like a two part bowl.




EDIT: get yourself a metal slurpee straw to use as a slide. That brass fitting will slide into it perfectly.

 

Metal slurpee straws? I've never seen one.

That being said, do they sell them at 7-11s?

i just reconed a plumbing store in town and am planning my next creation
in Bong Engineering

A glass jar for storing things (Liter) with screw on lid

cut and drill holes for bowel, inspiration tube, and possibly another brass tube for a carb

brass bowl, 1/4" threaded brass tube, tube elbow, another 1/4" threaded tube, some sort of plastic bubbler that needs lots of holes in it

Inspieration tube would have large mouthed brass fitting, going to a smaller size (1/2 to 1/4"), 1\4" brass tube that's 1.5 to 2" long

the inspiration elbow will be at a 45deg angle while the bowl will be 90 degrees. This opens up the space between the bowl and ur face.

Lastly, since i'm just getting back into Reefer, after a 24 year break, i've never really used a bong before the time i made this one. The hit size must be way more than a dooby...
anyway, putting ice in the bong water, does that make the tokes even easier? i tried real cold water about 30 minutes ago, the initial volume toke was way easier but when i did a full breath = coughing fit like usual.
when i build my mason jar bong, it'll be easier than most bongs to circulate iced water, maybe with some salt to really cool of the water tempratures.
