Hard water question

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by Anonymous12, Nov 16, 2019.

  1. Hey all I’m new to the forum but not new to glass and bongs as I have quite the collection. However, when I first started smoking I never used distilled water and got some hard water stains in pieces. I have tried CLR, white vinegar and the like and nothing seems to work. My question is if I continue to clean my bongs regularly and get the resin out if the hard water stains can be harmful to my health? I’m really good about cleaning my pieces and I get all the Rez out but I figured I’d ask if anyone knows if having hard water stains is dangerous. I’ll attach a picture of one of my bongs.

in the picture you can see the spots I’ve tried to scrape with a wire brush.

  2. Also this one has it the worst out of all my pieces. Please no judgment if this is a stupid question I’ve just always wondered

  3. Sounds daft but fill it with rockstar or relentless energy juice and leave it to soak overnight.
Cleanes baked on grease from the oven tray no problem so its bound to clean a bong. Eslecially if you get a pipe cleaner fired in about it :)

  4. I’m willing to try! Does anyone know if water stains are dangerous? I know drinking hard water isn’t bad for you but inhaling it while smoking is different

  5. Water stains cant possibly be dangerous or we would all be dead by now. If human life was that delicate everything would kill us

  6. Apologies for the weird post I have a bit of OCD and my brain obsesses with things. So essentially getting rid of water stains is to make it more visually appealing rather than safe?

  7. Also one final question for you awesome folks. Any idea on how to get tiny bits out of perks? Should I let it sit in ISO over night? This is my sextuple honeycomb piece and I can get it spotless but can’t seem to get the little pieces out

  8. I even wonder if Coca Cola would help rid these water stains. As mentioned before I’ve tried the CLR, white vinegar. I clean my pieces with 93-99% iso regularly

  9. Get on the ebay or even Amazon and get you some laboratory detergent for cleaning glassware. It cleans glass so well there is nothing left on the glass to contaminate the next experiment.
