I was off school yesterday and just broke my bowl so I carved this. Finished it with wax. It hits about the same as my bowl, but there's a lot less internal volume so I went with no choke. Now to get some bud and break in the bowl.
lookin good dude what kinda tools ya using? shit my "constuctive critisism" side is coming out. when sanding, step grit by doubling yoour last grit (60,120,220,440) and go against the grain of the last grit to get a supremely nice surface. Walnut polishes very nicely
Holy shit this is nice dude. Is the wax heat resistant? I dont like the sound of smoking real wax with my bud lol
Drill for the stem and bowl, handsaw to get rid of the excess bulk and a beltsander and surform for all the shaping. I hit it with some higher grit paper and more wax today and made the front into a face
It took about 2 hours, but I could prolly do it more efficiently I just drilled some holes in a block and started carving. The wax is only on the exterior so it doesn't really get burned at all. Your right man wax is no good to smoke I used to light one hits with a candle when I was lighterless shits rough on the lungs haha
Right on I was looking at the front and realized it had a nice bone structure so I added some eyes and a mouth. I wanna carve a pattern in to the mid section too, any ideas?
I think ima wrap a double helix around it, ive been a bit obsessed with them lately. Tribal would look cool with the face though, keep with the tiki head thing
