Han-Bolo's Aquaponics Organic Grow

Discussion in 'Organic Grow Journals' started by Han-Bolo, Apr 30, 2020.

  1. Starting to see some early signs of flowering. The solids build up situation has been addressed and the system is doing great!

  3. Lol, think theyre done stretching. At least the ones that are flowering. The GDP, and Kush strains are still pre flowering. I'll get some better pics later this afternoon. Screenshot_20200627-114755_Zmodo.jpg

  4. This might be the coolest setup I’ve ever seen. Very interesting!

Its been one heck of a challenge. I'm determined to swap all my hydroponics over to aquacultures but I still got some learning to do. I think after this grow I should be dialed in with the changes I have planned. Theres a guy named aquaponics Steve with potent ponics and he's right up the road from me. I talked to him a few weeks back when I had the slime issue. He holds classes for people that want to learn. Assuming the covid crap doesn't prevent me i plan on enrolling in a few classes to learn more.

  6. Very impressive regardless haha! What do you plan to do with the fish?

  7. When they get big enough I can sell them and make some $$. A 7in koi can be sold for $100 easily. I currently have 30 of them that are 5 and 6 inches.

  8. Wow that’s awesome! I hadn’t even thought about that. That just makes it even cooler haha.

  9. Here are some more pics

These are definitely doing much better than last run and I have way more plants then before. I am almost 100% certain that as soon as I address my solids filtration and aeration struggles, the grows will be much better.

  10. Ok so I've been harvesting a few plants at a time and im down to my last 4. Im getting great quality buds but the plants are still struggling towards the end. This is left over from the root mass/oxygenation issue/solids build up that I essentially stuck a bandaid on. It got me through the grow but I will be making some adjustments. I'm going to run better aerarion in the bed and im also going to run less plants. I believe they will benefit from the added root mass and oxygen. I also am making plans on a better solids filtrarion to minimize the load I put through the bed. I want to filter the water from the res to the bed rather than filter actively in the res and let the pump pull all the extra waste up to the bed.

By far my favorite strain from this bunch was the Fast Buds G-14 Auto. Super dank, Terpy, and really tasty. This stuff was ready to smoke after drying. I got a little left still lol.

  12. I've been off the forums for a bit but im still growing!

Current aquaculture grow is also a photo grow. Ive got Cinderella 99, Wedding Cake (both by greybeard), and a Jelly Breathe by in house genetics.

I just started the 12/12 cycle. They will still veg for a few weeks. I dont want this grow to be too big. The last one got a little wild and I didn't have enough root space. I want to make sure these ladies have plenty of oxygen and root mass all the way through flower. 20200924_095539.jpg 20200924_095602.jpg 20200924_095616.jpg

  15. I'm well into the flower stretch now, ive been doing my best to trellis the plants as they are stretching. This is my first photo grow in the 8x8 so I've been trying to get the environment dialed in between night and day. I think I finally got it down. Im running a avg of 1.3 VPD during the day a 1.0 at night. The ladies seem to be very happy. 20201007_102814.jpg View attachment 2853856 View attachment 2853857 20201007_103004.jpg Screenshot_20201007-103112_Samsung%20Internet.jpg

  16. Normally by now I was starting to see root oxygenation issues and deficiencies in the plants with the past few grows the way I had the aquaculture set up. It seems like this time around I may have figured it out. Fingers crossed I hope they stay this healthy!

  17. Nice system. Could it be done on a smaller scale without the fish. Or is that just plain old ebb and flow. Great looking plants.
