I will never buy perlite again. Here is 10 plants in 80% pumice and 20% coco. Run to waste nutrients. I collected this pumice from a local beach. I'll use a higher ratio of coco next time. I currently have to hand water twice during the 18hrs lights on, nearly 3 times! I just wanted to test if pumice could replace the perlite and I think its working well.

  2. Beautiful plants. What's the difference? Other than where it's sourced

Or is that the difference? I can dig it!

I found the whiter pumice to be lighter and acts as a better sponge than the grey stuff. Other than different sized pieces I don't think there is much difference though. This stuff washes up onto the sandy beaches in my area.

  4. I may have to try this. I really don't care for the perlite it breaks down in to small pieces. And when reusing coco it sucks having all that little be in there. What would you recommend like a 50/50 mix or maybe a 70/30 mostly coco so the roots have room to grow.

  5. 70/30 would be ideal. I'm hand watering 3 times during lights on.

Made one for my 3x6 grow bed and haven’t turned back. From one hour to 1 minute if nutes are already mixed.

  7. All that pumice will now get mixed into my soil I've being building for nearly a year. The pumice grow went good.
