Hey guys I'm new here and this is my first post! I made a great new pipe and I thought i would let you guys know because it looks and feels durable and lasting. I use a piece of wood about the size of your thumb and index finger touching at the tips for a bowl, and a glass guitar slide as the chamber with sealant glue to hold it together and make it airtight. It hits great and its easy to make and carry Let me know what you think!
looks legit nice job! just make sure the glue doesnt have anything in it that can be harmful. what kind of wood is that? i talked to the guy at my local pipe tobacco store (not headshop, classy as shit) and he said hard woods are best for pipes
Yea I used some sealant glue called GOOP and it is really, REALLY good! I used cherry tree wood because it is quite difficult to light on fire, even for a pipe. And after I posted this, I sprayed some acrylic finish on it to make it longer lasting and so that it does not absorb as much stink.
You mean you sprayed acrylic around the outside right? Not inside the pit where you'd be putting your bud, I hope
Thanks again everybody! And yes i did spray on the inside because i dont think the acryl would burn off once dry, but i don't know. But i've been using it every day since i made it, and the smoke has not once had a slight hint of either wood or acryl, and after three good hits, i'm smacked for more than three hours, and i smoke a lot, so it's not like i have low tolerance either!
That pipe looks pretty legit just be careful smoking things which aren't meant to be smoked. Was the glue and acryl heat resistant at least?
Haha alright thanks! And yes it was, completely it kicks ass! but every about 6 uses, the inside of the glass gets really musty and black and ew haha, so i sprayed chloride a disinfectant spray on a balled up paper towel, and then shoved it in the chamber aaalll the way, then i took some needle nose pliers and grabbed the paper towel ball and twisted it, and then i pulled it out. And that did the job just fine
