So I was using my gravity bong and was pulling it up out of the water then boom the whole think exploded Can someone tell me why? *helpful hints* lighter was weak so turned it up to high Clean water Old bottle but the bottle is still in tact the water exploded through the bowl with the weed hear a whooosh sound from something before hand
Maybe the bottle was a thin material and therefore the suction created imploded the bottle and thus the weed "exploded" out of the top. idk dude. I'm so high.
sounds to me like it didn't "explode" at all, you just messed up and pushed the bong back into the water a slight bit, sending water and weed spraying out of the top
I'm guessing you sucked some butane into it, the butane ignited and "WOOSH" the rapid air expansion blew out your bowl
I agree with this sir. Sounds like what happened to me. I like doing that on purpose with empty bottles makes a cool jet-like flame.

You had an airtight seal with probably an extra amount of weed packed tightly. 2. The amount of ignition didn't matter what mattered was you were building up tons of smoke in an enclosed environment. 3. As the weed burned it didn't matter if the lighter was present or not because more and more oxigen was flowing in with more smoke creating the perfect fuel or ignition source. The fact that the smoke was hotter then the atmosphere around you would decreased the reaction time as well. So the sparks from the bowl could have been the ignition source or the flame when conditions became just right the smoke ignited causing thermal expansion through the path of least resistance aka the bong top and sides that's why the water splashes everywhere. The good thing is you only get wet and not burned because its not happening when you take the bong rip as you must have an ignition source so it seems.
So as I see it it sucks in some excess lighter fluid and when the BP sucks through still lit a little bit; it passes right through the cloud of lighter fluid
OP is 7 years old & unless you hold your lighter to the bowl when doing a GB it won't explode bro Also welcome to GC
