Does anybody have the Grav Upline Bubbler? It is about $150. I got it last night and it hit very smooth. But after the second rip i got this black residue all over my lips, like a tar. I cleaned it out after only a few hits, I played with the water level, and there is still black tar on my lip. I also tried 2 different strains. What is going on? Not one person mentioned this in any reviews so im confused. I feel like it might be because of how narrow the mouthpiece is it vacuums up all the resin into my mouth.
You’ll have to post a picture of your rig, I love grav stuff and that’s a nice rig. If it is clean when you are hitting it, it’s definitely the weed you are smoking. This typically happens when weed is on the moister side of things. Probably needs a little more dry.
Even a bubbler shouldn’t get this nasty so quickly is op burning lots of stems or something??? Or just low grade weed.. retire the Mexican Brick weed .. Black sludge resin takes multiple sessions to build up unless your smoking 4-5 grams or something because thc is too low . Pics or it didn’t happen !!! ??? ?? Should’ve got a bigger bong haha
No stems, im very ocd about that, also very good weed. At this point ive tried at least 6 different strains, between mine and friends. Every one puts resin on my lips. I will say one strain was a little better but it was my friends, and it was probably the 2nd lowest quality of the bunch. I have 3 other bongs and never had this problem. Also, its not that the bong is getting dirty. It doesn't build up with resin any faster than any other bong, it actually stays pretty clean. The problem is the resin that does generate winds up on my lip instead of inside of the bong. The first place that does get dirty on the glass is right at the mouthpiece. The speed that I inhale and water levels makes the biggest difference but it still is bad no matter what. What am I supposed to take a picture of?
I tried multiple strains after reading this and as a test i grinded up some and sat it opened, next to my dehumidifier for a while. When i hit it, it was very dry, like crumble apart if you grab to hard. Still resin on lips, however a little less than usual maybe.
Multiple strains from the same dry/cure? Or are these multiple strains from different growers/vendors?
I just did 2 test rips. I did one through a face mask but it was too strong to pull the smoke through. 2nd test I filled the bowl only half way, lightly, no packing down at all Then i pulled hard to light the flower and fill the smoke in the chamber Then ripped it smooth paced No resin Ill try another one like this later.
Colder then water more often gotta clean and resin sticks to everything.. can work in a ice bong not going to cool down bubbler smoke tho .. much without resin sticking everywhere!! Try multiple water temps if that does not work then the bubbler sucks ha ha $150 for nothing
The narrow mouth piece on this left gross taste and resin on my mouth. I got a wide beaker and it never happened again. It's not the weed. It eventually got a hairline crack around the base so I just threw it away.
I hate that shit! I've found that it's usually a mix of water getting into my resin and then onto my lips. I feel you and this is an awful problem to have! I'm not too familiar with your piece, but seems like your water might be getting into your air line, mixing with your resin? Hmmmmm.... Just a thought... Stay lit and keep it skunky family
Lol at everyone saying "water temperature" and "brick weed" do an experiment, larger tube VS tiny tube, you'll find the answer lies in smoke distribution/concentration.
Was this defective? Hair line cracks usually don’t break borosilicate glass , ouch looked like a nIce bubbler … Larger bongs may be the answer if your weed isn’t the best . But it sounds like op had good stuff !! Beaker ftw there my fav . Thin mouth peices gotta make hits awkward..
