Grav Bong as a daily piece?

Discussion in 'DIY and Homemade' started by jrock93, Jul 21, 2009.

  1. Yeah I have one I use frequently, but it's not a poor man's gravity bong it's actually made of glass. Get yourself one you won't regret it.

In addition to the GB, I also have a glass waterfall bong which I like better.

However, when I'm at a house toking up ain't nothing wrong with smoking a ghetto home made grav bong!

  2. You keep taking about that man! id loooove to see a pic. I would definetly invest in a manufactured glass waterfall bong.

  3. chill out bro

let's not let our opinions cause us to throw out bogus blanket statements like that, please. I can guarantee you there are G-bongs out there that would knock you off your ass.

  5. I'm all about the grav. I found the most clean hitting smooth rip comes from a 32oz gatorade or powerade bottle in a pitcher of some sort. I use a small socket melted into the top. Possibly one of the most cost effective ways of smoking.

It uses such a small amount of bud and gets you rippinheimered. I only smoke fire out of the grav though. I actually think smoking mid grade out of a grav is illegal in 28 of the states in the US. :smoking:

    Damn!! Great post man.

I have made a perc grav with a perc-ing down stem i have for the bongs. Its nice but you know it just doesn't hit as hard!

Haha i mean i don't love that its cancerous but i don't even smoke as much as in one joint ( a good sized J) as i do my hydros ALL day!

  7. I do enjoy an occasional gravity bong... however, given that it ends up hurting my throat a lot more than say, a bubbler or a pipe, i would not advise using it everyday...

If it's all u have, then fuck, just use it... ur getting blazed either way

  8. If you throw your sobe in the freezer with water on it.... it rally takes that heat off!! Not freezing it is like not using a iced hoorker with your knives! its gonna burn a little

  9. i used a grav daily for 3 1/2 years. Dr. says my lungs are perfect. But my tolerance is pretty up there, studying for this drug test is actually going to be good thing

anyway i would recommend a stem all the way down to diffuse it through the water. else you really don't have a bong, it's a steamroller.

i used a glass pitcher, sobe bottle, size 15 cork, roor 14.5x19cm diffuser, a 1pc gong ashcatcher/bowl, and a small tube in the cork to breath in. tastes great and gets you ripped off smooth hits.

Then i came on here and saw these toro percs and couldn't resist. Since i got that it's been my DD.. but I've pulled out the grav twice since then and it is definatley a different experience. the down stem all the way into the water is key

  10. That is fuckin awesome! could you post a pic of how you got the diffuser in there! I do take several infiltered hydros a day with my sobe bottle and would love to add that upgrade!

thanks for the post + Rep fur shur!

here's the corks Size 15 Cork Stoppers, Extra Select - WidgetCo

use a cork borer set to make the hole. I'd suggest buying a few extra corks, it takes a little practice to get it nice and straight. Water and a lot of patience helps.

EDIT sells the diffy, 19cm is just about long enough (longest i could find). an arizona iced tea bottle has the same notch and is a better size.

i also added a 7mm glass tube in the cork to inhale through... this is not really ideal, a 14mm or so tube would be much better but the cork isn't big enough to fit both. I didn't want to pull the cork every hit since it takes too much time and I'd risk breaking the diffy. But looking back on things now i don't see why you couldn't just hit it right through the diffy once it's been pulled above the water. Use an AC.. Actually an 18mm diffy might fit by itself.

edit: the second tube also allows air to exit the bottle when putting it back in the bucket. Without that you have to loosen the cork after each hit. And hitting it through the diffy is wet like I thought. Ideally you'd need a bottle with 2 18mm gong joints, 3 or 4 holes on the bottom, a removable stem, slide, mouthpiece, and a glass stopper.
