So I see you use the socket-bowl technique.. Me and my friend used to use that method all the time. Please excuse the absurdity of this video (From when I was a sophmore in highschool haha) But this is one of me and friends creations. well to make round holes in a plastic surface i use a plastic reamer, which is a tool generally used in rc cars and like hobbies just to make holes, and just scissors for the straight cuts. Hot glue will work, but its not a very permanent option, grommets are better for tubes to make a clear stemline, i would get some polycarbonate tubing 1/2" ( incredibowl material) and slit it and stick it in horizontally in to a bottle with a rubber grommet... from there you would need a joint of some sort connecting a vertical tube for your stem, and a bowl joint i have been tossing around the idea of having a glassblower make me a few stemlines (literally just the stem and inline in a right angle with a gong joint) so you can make amazing plastic homemades by just inserting the stem into a hole at the bottom of any bottle with a grommet as for the acrylic idea, i too think the same... in the past ive looked up acrylic molding to see if i could just have some bottles made up with threads then go back and add my stainless diffusers and such to make cheap quality pieces, but i havent figured it out yet... anybody wanna make me some glass stems? or know anything about acrylic molding? Thanks for all the positive comments... now to go burn a bowl... but what piece? -GH
Damn this is some awesome stuff, I used to be huge into homemade like this. p.s. fuck shitloaf and kenjamink
i found that using pill bottles for percs works well. i had some showerheads and things i made before but they have since been trashed
Never commented on your topics/posts, (I think) but I have seen a lot of your work and of course the ridicule you endured during them. Every time I saw a new home made you made, I would always think- 'oh thats pretty fuckin sick, look at that detail... too bad its fuckin plastic though' and honestly dude, the difference between hitting out of plastic, especially one homemade - not even the stuff you buy from a shop, and glass is just night and day. You should definitely move on to making glass homemades. I've seen a little workbench in your pictures where you have clamps, drills, lots more tools, so it seems like you would have all the tools needed. Stay away from metal too man, just make it pure glass- that's something to really be proud about. You made a dope ass home made, you aren't a glass blower, but it's fully glass - how dope would that be?
Those are pretty sweet man! i really like that first one that you did, pretty badass. I am going to have to give this a go sometime, I think it would be a fun way to pass time while I was cheifing. I had never thought to use plastic and stuff, but have been playing around with an idea to make a bong out of a jack daniels bottle for a long time. I plan on trying out a couple of these and seeing how they turn out! Thanks for the idea man, + rep edit: I think it would be sick if he were to do glass, but he would probably have to pay someone to blow the parts out for him, unless he is a glassblower.
there is only one property of glass i can not reach and that is the complete rigidity, otherwise, diffusion is diffusion... so thanks for your opinion but im gonna keep on doing what i do, and im prouder of a squid-line pillar, than any simple all glass piece will net me... yes i could drill a whole threw glass, but then what, a straight tube? thats not me
While diffusion is diffusion, taste is taste. I personally hate the taste of a hit out of plastic. You could make simple waterfall ones with vodka bottles. Find a long enough piece of glass to insert into that waterfall for the downstem. Drill slits in it too, diffused fully glass bong. Just top it with a $10 glass bowl. The starbucks glass drinks are a perfect size for a small showerhead perc, you could just drill slits sideways on the bottom of it. There are tons of random glass containers used for different products sold cheap in stores, why don't people look for those instead of random plastic and metal things? You're putting all that time into making the plastic shit look nice, just might as well work with the glass.
yes taste is taste is taste, but having hit both my pieces and a large variety of different gongs, i honestly perfer mine... where as i doubt you have hit a glue less SS and plastic homemade on my level... and i cant say i know what a plastic bong taste like... to me i taste flower, same as glass i pride myself in knowing the limitations of my materials, glass too, but to me a full glass waterfall bong is on a lower level then any double diffused piece, plastic or not. And yeas there are plenty of glass containers out there, but knowing my limitations i can only drill holes in glass, not make slits, and i wouldnt be able to make chambers... two big red flags for me mentally So i understand you like glass, so unless there is another point you want to get across, im gonna keep making my plastic shit nice, and dont think your thoughts are new to me, i know i want to use glass eventually, but i will when i can do justice to it -GH
No doubt there man, I made a smart water triple chamber, double perc, one tree, one circ, both with pill bottles and mechanical pencils, etc. There was no glue involved either, I made a good one. I even used a glass diffused downstem and bowl. Diffusion is diffusion... it was smooth as fuck. But the feeling, the taste of the hit was just.. not the same. I was just trying to convince you to try some glass. If it's the same for you, no doubt keep on doing what you're doing. As I said those look sick as fuck, would love to see them in glass though... rarely anyone makes glass homemades because its hard, I understand. (Also for slits.. if you hold the drill sideway... )
I finished my showerhead bong, the JB weld is curing as I type. Looking forward to hitting this badass
Another piece... shitty pics but its a twin to the red one, showerhead - 8 arm perc after trying the red one, somebody said i want one... so here it is mid sesh with its owner one day ill take my camera over and get a good photo...
These look really nice! I want to make some, or at least borrow some of your ideas, mind posting schematics?
