Disclaimer- these are homemades, which use plastic and metal among other materials to achieve great diffusion. If you can not look past the materials and believe glass is the ONLY option, i kindly ask you to leave before adding your closed minded, often negative response. I do own and use glass, however i enjoy making and using my homemades as well because in my opinion they can offer just as good a smoke if not better than some gong's. So now that thats out of the way, welcome to the thread where i will be posting some of my pieces. to start it off, the first legit double chamber i made, a red showerhead - 8 arm perc, born on August 13, 2010 from all these parts... since then she has been re-skined from a smart water to a voss for the new year Next, a light purple stemline - showerhead now living in Tn. with a friend And finally some of my current pieces... a blue showerhead - showerhead and also set up as a single showerhead ice master with my one ashcatcher and my color, green... its always changing... as a stemline - 6 arm squidline as a stemline- pillar perc - 6 arm perc as a 4 arm squidline - pillar perc thanks for looking, more updates as they happen... -GH
As long as no harmful chemicals/toxins are inhaled using the materials in your construction I could give a fuck what you smoke out of. EDIT: And there really isn't any advice at all in your post.
its an archive... ask away if you want advice... but i think if you have the ability to make something similair, pictures can say more than words as for design. yes its will be controversial if GC makes it... i am not pushing these pieces on anybody, just showing you whats out there... i believe that PET and 304L Stainless Steel are suitable to the conditions of smoking, but that is just my opinion
yes i will in the future, but i need to do it right, and that will take some time do you want one like the blue one or a simplier design with a straight stem? (no glue at all) like this one on the right
here is my first thread... lost it to flamming and trolls, but on page 2 theres a brief tutorial on the bong, and page three has one on the bowls... as well as more pics http://forum.grasscity.com/toking-tools/873182-homemade-showerhead-perc.html
The blue one would be sweet. Im inspired to build one because of this: http://forum.grasscity.com/toking-tools/978198-syn-showerhead-240-fps.html If you could replicate this you would be my hero. Thanks dude
Dude, don't get me wrong. Those pieces are amazing for being homemade. Reminds me of my high school days. That triple perc must have taken forever to make.
that even easier... im gonna build a micro inverse showerhead soon anyway... syn showerheads pull the water inside obviously, where as most of mine pull the water out, but i have made a few... just out of my head if you can find these materials you would be set a voss 1 liter plastic bottle a sobe classic plastic bottle a monster energy shot ( small black one) 1 ft of 1-1/4" od vinyl tubing 5/16 id rubber grommet you would have everything you need but a bowl and a stem, if you want i could send you a bowl and stem though
Ohhhhhh so thats the difference. I noticed your stem went into your shower head, the syn shower didnt. Thanks for the part list, but i found some better stuff to use instead of the monster energy shots. Are the voss bottles thicker than the smartwaters? And the only voss bottles ive seen around me are glass.
yeah voss is thicker, and the top is squarer so you can just put the bowl on the top directly and only need a little stub of a stem to slide the bowl on be cause the whole outside chamber is before the water... I to have trouble getting voss's which facilitated the switch to smart water, easier to get but a little flimsy on long sections... so with smater water you need a 33.9oz bottle and then a sobe life water bottle will make the lid... i said the monster shot because it has a small lid (think 2 liter of soda) and that lid size fits inside the vinyl tube, and the vinyl tube fits inside the lid of the sobe, thus making two chambers... then simply slit the bottom of the inside chamber and poke a hole in the outside chamber for the bowl and stem and you have the same effective design as the syn showerhead just be careful on your inside bottle choice as ive found smaller tubes work better... say 1" - 2" diameters for the actual shower-head bottle
+rep for the homemades, and the fact that you made a new thread dispite what happened on the other one, Im gladly subscribed to this tread and will follow close because you handy work is fantastic
Alright sounds good. I will post pictures of my final product when its complete. Thanks for all the help
Good thread, I don't know why people hate on homemade I want to build an all clear, super clean inline with right angled bowl stem. The only issues I run into all the time is water and air sealing. Is a hot glue gun enough? Also how do you make precision cuts in the bottles? Also, I wonder why nobody makes acrylic inlines, showerheads and trees ... I'd buy one in a heartbeat!
