Microsoft got rid of the Homegroup in Windows 10 and now my Home Network is completely broken. How the fuck am I supposed to network my Windows 10 machine with Moms Windows 7 machine? It keeps asking for a network password that I don't have. Had to fuck up everything, didn't you. It's likely they did this to get people to upgrade to windows 10. FUCK OFF
back to Win7 it is then...? Thou XP still has balls if really pissed consider Ubuntu them Russkies have ...lol or No network connection after upgrading to Windows 10 upgrade to windows 10 I have no network connection good luck
Windows 10 still has Home Network. You will need to know or reset the password. How to set up and manage Windows 10 HomeGroup on a local network
I was going to say I'm sure it can be configured some how or maybe some after market software could link the 2 computers. Sent from my SM-G900FD using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I'm sticking with windows 7 until they get off of this idea that people want their desktop to look like a smartphone interface. They want you to be inundated with social media alerts and news as clickbait bullshit cluttering up your start menu. trying to drive revenue from advertising on social media, and microsoft search and news outlets like bing. It's dumbing down the capabilities of a desktop to replicate the experience of a smartphone. it's a huge step back. end of windows 10 rant.
Copy this and save it to either Powershell or Notepad insure when the save takes place it is named with a dot ps1 .ps1 I named it CrapAppRemoval.ps1 Note if you want to have the solitare collection (or another listed app), remove it from the list #$VerbosePreference = "SilentlyContinue" $logfilepath = "$home\Desktop\TasksLog.csv" #$ErrorActionPreference = "SilentlyContinue" $apps = @('3DBuilder', 'BingWeather', 'Messaging', 'MicrosoftOfficeHub', 'MicrosoftSolitaireCollection', 'People', 'SkypeApp', 'windowscommunicationsapps', 'WindowsFeedbackHub', 'WindowsMaps', 'XboxApp', 'XboxIdentityProvider', 'ZuneMusic', 'ZuneVideo', 'Getstarted', 'OneConnect', 'WindowsStore', 'Getstarted') write-host 'Removing Contact Support' Get-WindowsCapability -online | ? {$_.Name -like '*ContactSupport*'} | Remove-WindowsCapability –online write-host 'Removing Quick Assist' Get-WindowsCapability -online | ? {$_.Name -like '*QuickAssist*'} | Remove-WindowsCapability –online foreach ($app in $apps){ Write-Host "Removing $app" Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.displayname –like "*$app*"} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online Write-Verbose -Message "$$" }
What does this do? Win 10 has homegroup as I believe you said before. It is probably the easiest way to create a network ever known to man. Edit: I was wrong they removed it.
The power shell script cleans up a lot of the extra crap that is installed. Specifically the programs within the Apps section of the script.
I don't mind the latest windows they release because it's usually faster and you can view normal desktop style instead of smartphone slider style lol Sent from my SM-G900FD using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Aside from that..all my anti privacy settings are gone again..found this to take care of what I knew and MORE!!' These guys are worse than Apple IMO. (dumber too..LOL) My machine is running about 25% slower after the unavoidable update (yeah, I know about delaying it, but we shouldn't have to) O&O ShutUp10: download free antispy tool for Windows 10
A lot of this will be moot within the next decade. As it continues to improve and become more seamless, I'd expect VR to take over more and more user interfaces. Weather or not someone preferred Win7, or 10, or Mac will not matter, because the entire concept of screen interface may morph to completely different models. Whatever we will be using in 2028, will look nothing like any version of Windows or Mac does today.
They fucked up Solitaire too. It's either pay through the nose for a vastly inferior game or download a free, vastly inferior game. It used to be so simple. Now it's all flashy gimmicks. I just want to play a fucking game of cards. I'll never play Microsoft Solitaire again. Fuck em.
