-here are some of my some of my homemade pieces ive made recently with various liquor bottles i "obtained" from work. -my all patron silver bong. with hose and mini bottle perced ash catcher. i fucking love this thing. she milks like nobodys buisness. zero drag. - and on deck is my classic gravity bong, nothin special here just love making glass pieces and gravs are just too much fun. milked her too. some one stole my glass on glass makers mark bong but i have a few more around here too; ill have to post em on here soon. please giv feedback and if theres any cool bottles or anything you think would make a cool piece id like to kno, this shits fun.
"Drag is the force opposing the flow of smoke. It is caused by pressure loses in a bong/pipe due to bowl holes, diffusers, ashcatchers, percolators and just friction against the sides. Friction and pressure loses are greatest in thin, long tubes and small holes. In well-designed bongs, the greatest pressure loss is from the small hole in your bowl. This is why when you pull the bowl, the drag goes down greatly." shit was just sayin that with the addition of the perced ashcatcher theres no difference in the hit. idk was a lil blazed during post which in my case means i get wordy as fuck lol. just meant to say is she hits smoothasfuk.
got reeeallllly bored today so i decided to make a hookah out of some random stuff layin round the house and the local hardware store. (the only thing actually meant to be used on the hookah is a bowl i picked up at the local hookahbar.) -patron bottle base; ofcourse -golfclub shaft diffused stem -ashtray made from crappy splash cymbal from first drumset -suuuuuuper jank windscreen made from rusty coffee haha, will be getting replaced asap -20ft of clear tubing with connectors(got these from hardware store) along with the copper tongs, which i think were meant to hang heating ducts in houses, but they were shiny and like 5cents im thinkin of adding more hoses for partys but im undecided, what do you think i should do?
new build, i call "the ladies man" my first GonG -courvoisier cognac bottle-fo freee -slide blown by local guy-$20 (stickered 35) -glass diffused downstem blown by same guy- $20 -rubber gromit from hardware store- 10cents -MILKSHOT to come....... priceless i also threw in a pic of the hookah all smoked up, why not
nice job, but how do you drill the glass.? i ordered a glass cutting hole saw?? will it work? any tips etc?----------thanks
ive made and sold alot of these latly and this is what ive been using. i got some hole saws from the local hardware store, they look alot like the ones in the picture. i actually stopped using this type of bit, mostly because i couldnt find any big enough to cut the holes i wanted at my local stores and was too lazy to order one online like you did. the pros of the "hole saw" type bit is they cut a VERY clean hole, not too much of a chance of flaking or chipping around the hole BUTT they are kind of a pain in the ass to get to dig in at first, and they are almost impossible to cut into anything with too much texture or raised lettering on it, just wayy to hard to get it started. USE WATER when you use these diamond tipped bits, you need some sort of moisture to get them to work at their full potential, alot of people recomend drilling the bottle, vase, what ever you want, completly submerged in a bucket of watter, but i didnt want to ruin the lables on my bottles so i found just dripping or spraying the bit and drilling area with water does help. and GO SLOW NEER THE END, after you get dug into the glass you can go as fast as you want, BUT as you near the point of breakin through the bottle let up on the pressure your putting on the glass and slow it down or youll risk cracking through and either breaking the entire thing or leaving you with ugly chipped marks on the inside, NOTGOOD. butt like i said i dont use these any more, mostly because im lazy. what i do use are these cheaper carbide spade drill bit.(in the other pic) they are much easier to start, you can cut in at an angle easier, and they seem to cut alot quicker. BUT they do have a bigger risk of chipping, oddshaped non perfect holes, and are loud as fuck sometimes. and i use them dry. most importantly TAKE YOUR TIME dont be dumb and rush the shit or it will break, and that does suck. and the last tool i use alot is my dremel, i use a stone bit like in the last pic, it does the job of cleaning up and widening up holes made by the other two bits. thats about all i gotta say about that lol, well good luck im sure youll make some killer glass w ur new bit, make sure to post em so we can see your work.
