First homemade glass bong

Discussion in 'DIY and Homemade' started by Scoobii2013, Dec 10, 2012.

  1. So last Friday I received a vase from my teacher. I have a friend who is winning to cut/drill a hole in it for me. Friday night and Saturday night I worked on the bowl and down stem. And I'm not gonna lie I am proud of my craftsmanship. So now here is where my problem lies. The down stem is made of a Hennessy so it's not a straight tube one end is smaller then the other. So could I fix this problem with some kind of sealant, silicone, or electrical tape. If you suggest a sealant which brand do you recommend using from first hand experiences. I don't wanna die from harmful vapors nor do I want my friends to die.
    Thanks

  2. As far as sealant I'd go with some epoxy, you can pick some up at your local hardware store. I like the vase though, very cool. :D Just a question, why not pick up an actual downstem? I'm assuming you're gonna buy an actual bowl as well, yes?

  3. Well the reason why I haven't bought a down stem is because I'm short on money and I like the idea of having a completely homemade bong. When I actually get more money ill invest in a better bong and downstem

  4. Oh no dude I totally understand, definitely. I'm into making my own pieces too, just haven't had the resources to make my own glass piece. I hate those people that are like, "Why not just buy glass instead of wasting your time?" It's like, 'cause I'm broke bitch! Haha

I think the Hennesy downstem is legit as fuck honestly. It's gonna be tough to find a bowl to fit it is the problem. :(

  5. Thats what the second picture is. I made a bowl out of the top for the vase:)

  6. why dont you just buy a bong?

  7. I don't really have extra money to spend on myself :(

  8. Oooohhh! That's what that is. Dude, my hat's off to you this is sick no doubt!! :D

Not everyone's got an extra $20-75 to drop on glass man. This guy's piece is sick though, you should be jealous. Plus he's got the satisfaction of having made a piece himself that he gets to use all the time.

  9. Yeah exactly what he said and I'm a girl just thought I should throw that out there. And while I'm at it I have a status update. I gave my friend my downstem and now she's cutting the hole for me. So I should be using it in a day or two:smoking:. I also need a name for it

  10. Damn it, sorry. I hate when people on here assume that everyone's a guy, now I just did it! :(

Ah dope! Remember to post pics showing us how it smokes. I'd name it Hennessy if it were up to me lol

  11. It's fine man, I guess I really should post a picture of me instead of my dog haha. I'll post picks right after the epoxy dries, and that's a pretty good name for it.

  12. pffft

  13. I'll probably buy one for my 18th birthday

So I'm stuck right now I tried epoxy and it sucks. It sets way to fast, now I need something else as a sealant. Or since the downstem and the hole in the vase won't be close to a flame can't I use hot glue?

  15. oh boy... inb4 age police..

For some reason it doesn't bubble well but it works without water so I guess it's not a total fail

  18. awesome, i got a bunch of antique-ish vases that i wanna turn into bongs, but im far too lazy lol

  19. If you ever make one try to avoid cutting the hole in the vase with duct tape. It probably one of the worse ways to cut glass

  20. the last one i made years ago i just used a dimond tipped drill bit for drilling through glass, ceramic and masonry, just keep it wet so you dont chip it
