  1. Thanks, me too!

  2. Is this visible with a lower powered lens? or would i need a 30x or better to see?

  3. depends man, people who have been growing for a while can almost tell by eye as the trichs just start to amber it looks like a very lightly tinted orange fuzz, but thats to the trained eye.

you may have to pick up a microscope, but 10-20 bucks isnt much.

And are you WA as in WEST AU?

    Adelaide here.

    RD~

  4. subscribing, this shit is sweet

  5. Ok, ill do what I can :) if my scope doesnt tell well enough ill pickup a new one.

I live in USA, so not aus! Thanks for the reply RD.

Thanks! Im glad you like it, ill probably be updating even more often since its getting close to finishing.

  6. subscribed. looking to do sour diesel next year so ill be watching this closely.

  7. I asked this in general indoors, but Ill ask it here too just incase. With winter approaching im looking to store irrigation water over the winter to use for my next round. I have a few of those plastic 55 gallon drums. Any suggestions for keeping the water?

Cement floors, so ill get them up off it with some wood, going to sink an airstone to the bottom of whichever tank im pulling from to help aerate the water. Ill seal off the other ones. The water does contain random stuff you would expect to find in irrigation water (the occasional seed/bug, etc.) but I think it will be ok being in total darkness, hopefully will keep the algae from growing. I dont think temps of water should be too big of issue but I do have an aquarium heater I could use if neccesary.

  8. So we are at 46 days into flowering. Im not sure if my Diesel lady is a grapefruit diesel or a sour diesel, the grapefruit finishes in 55 days, the sour diesel in ~63-77 days. According to what I can find online for finishing times. The plant really doesnt look to good lately, all of the leaves are curling and bending down and so Im not sure if it is a symptom of the plant getting near done (maybe indicating grapefruit) or if its just jacked up.

Heres some pictures of the damage.

So im not sure what to think. I will try and find out for sure what strain it is tonight from my friend. Alot more hairs are turning red on the diesel vs. the XXX. Its been looking like this for a week or 2 and seems to slowly be getting worse. Any thoughts? I dont have my microscope yet so I cant tell the color of the trichs yet. I have a magnifying glass but thats not strong enough.

And heres a shot of some sexy lookin XXX budporn:

    Thanks for any thoughts.

  9. Forgot to note PH levels seem fine, a little high but not alot. What do you guys like to normally see for PH in your soils? Temps solid 78F.

If you can keep your pH at 6.5 or below all the time, that would be good. Maybe 6.2.6.5 is prime. You watering schedule should go... Nutes, water, nutes, water, if youre doing organics. If your using chemicals... nutes, water, water, nutes. They dont look sick enough to flush so you should try and get on a good feeding schedule and maintain the pH.

You should harvest when the trichs are ready. Most of the time the amount of days they told you for flowering is right, but you should always scope it youself to get max potency and yield.

  11. Bit of an update; I think the droopyness was bugs. Ive noticed a few whiteflies and a few mites. I got a few no-pest strips down so that should clear them out, but I wound up having to harvest the Diesel early (turns out it was grapefruit diesel). It was just looking too crappy and I was afraid it would die. Heres the pics after the trim and hang, I apologize the pics are really dark in there, not alot of light.

    Here goes:

Im honestly pretty disappointed in the harvest from the diesel, im sure some of it can be attributed to being my first grow, but the size of alot of these branches are nothing like I see in other grows in here, or in other pictures. Im 6'5" so my hands are pretty big, but even still thats seems like a tiny cola overall to me. I was hoping for 2-3oz per plant but im guessing this will be 1-2 tops. (if that)

Heres an update on the rest,

Im guessing its another few weeks at least out from being done. I got a scope and checked the trichs, seems like they are all cloudy to me but I might just not be able to 'read' them very well. Its a 60-100x scope so it goes in pretty close. Ill look again at them in a week or 2 and watch for some amber trichs, and im guessing as soon as I see those ill finish the grow.

Does anyone have some suggestions or feedback to why im getting somewhat low yeild? I think first time hurt me some, also using a MH light to flower probably hurt some. I also dont have access to great nutrients this time around, so that probably messed it up some too...but anything I can learn for next time will help!

I hope to have a 1000w HPS for my next grow, some better nutes and soil, and ill be growing from seed, setting up a mother area, and trying to advance this up as much as I can.

  12. those are some dark pics

use good nutes and flower under HPS

    just like you said

    :)

  13. yo

just swingin by for a check on the latest

    plants are lookin great

don't be disapointed by the diesel yield looks like a good ounce to me atleast

the only thing i could think of would be the distance the light is away from the plants, as they loose alot of their lumen power the further away they are.

this could have been the cause for the lower yield but i really don't know to be honest

check out my grow if ur interested, i keep my 600 watt hps about a foot above my plants. really increases growth noticeably and the plants do not have to stretch for light

you are covering a much bigger area though, and you have more wattage at your disposal

lookin like a really good 1st grow to me overall anyway

good luck with the rest of it

    + rep

    peace

  14. man i would say your doin great for your first grow, it may be a wild growing weed, but its easily fucked with and a lot of care can be given to a "simple" plant. anyway heres my .02 the plants were stretched quite a bit (light was too far away) and the node spacing is far inbetween. and since when bud grows it spirals up to the next node, and catches that bud so on an so fourth. for instance if you grew your node sets one inch apart, then your entire main stalk will likely be one cola all the way up haha.

anyway bud production really packs on in the last 2-2.5 weeks, so if you dont make it to that time, its easy to be dissapointed, but i think you did a fine job

  15. looks good , keep us posted on the final weight

  16. Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep you guys posted. I hope to have the dried weight of the SD this weekend. Just depends how well its drying. The room is dark and i have a fan moving air in and out.

With the other plants needing another 2-3 weeks at least that gives me some hope that they will pack on some extra weight :)

  17. A little early test :bongin: of the Grapefruit Diesel=:D:smoking:

Pretty excited about that, was worried it wouldn't turn out.

A few comments... i grow NYCD which has no relation to SourD, but my plants look almost identical in structure and have the same 'canoeing' issues. Mine was due to summer environment problems (high temps and humidity). typically in the right environment the NYCD is very hardy but this summer it looked worse than the other gals i have in the room. Also you did not have to hack that SourD, it would have finished out with the canoed leaves. Lastly, i was wonderin if you are leaving that light on in your drying room, if so total darkness is the best for drying.. after they are hacked light degrades thc. Good first go at it man, keep up the good work.

  19. Thanks. Next time ill keep that in mind about keeping it for a bit longer. I keep the lights off in the drying room, and I have a oscillating fan drawing air out of the room.

Im pretty sure the canoe-ing was because of the bugs. I didnt notice it, it was on alot of the lower stuff.

Update: Today I re-arranged the room to try and get as close to the light as safe. re-tied all the plants up nicely. A couple are still lookin a little sickly from the bugs but I think it should finish nicely. Ill get some pics up tommorrow.

  20. id throw a small fan in there on low (not on the plants) to bring fresh oxygen in instead of just sucking out. also

how many plants did you have all together and how was the smell througout the house, did it go out of the house. im working on something small that you can smell if you get anywhere near the side of my house. it wreaks and its only 1
