Epic Voss Bong- Made by me

Discussion in 'DIY and Homemade' started by Bubb Rubb, Feb 24, 2009.

  1. I decided I needed something to smoke out of, but really didn't want to spend any sort of substantial amount of money to do so.

I wasn't into the whole plastic bottle thing, so I got this awesome Voss bottle and a glass bowl and stem. Hope you like it.

damn dude, I've always wanted to do this but never had the initiative.. looks really good +rep fo sho

edit: just be careful with the downstem, looks like it could break easy

  3. Thanks man!

It really wasn't too bad to do. The hardest part was finding someone that actually carried glass voss bottles. Everyone has the plastic ones for some reason.

  4. Nice looking bong. How did you make it?

  5. I bought a silicon carbide bit for cutting through the glass with my drill.

I drilled it submerged in water and filled with water so it would have less of a tendency to crack. The drilling took about 20+ minutes to get through, then I tried to widen it a little so I could get the right angle for the downstem.

I used a rubber grommet to secure it and hot-glued to grommet onto the glass.
It's airtight and I think it looks pretty good for only costing about $15.

  6. sweet. I love the homemade factor. Around here we all call it "Custom." Haha. Im dying to try this. I have a few alcohol bottles laying around im going to try. I need to get a glass downsteam tho.

  7. By chance are is that green and pink plug in to the bottom right the cord for a headset?

Oh and the bong looks great, I should hot glue my down stem in so it doesn't get loose from a lot of use. I mean really its a good bong but it takes a lot of abuse. Its kinda big too, obtuse.

    - I'm a rhyme machine

  8. also did your headshop carry those rubber grommets?

  9. Firstly, the green plug is just the jack to my computer speakers.

And I bought the rubber grommets for around$1.50 for five from Home Depot, but I'm sure you can really get them at any home-improvement stores.

The grommet isn't holding the stem in place but I used it along with the hot glue to make certain that the thing was air and water tight. Also, I think it gives it a little bit of flare.

  10. I was wondering because my headset has the same pink and green jacks and one is for the mic, the other for the headphones.

  11. and where did u find the glass voss bottle? u said it was hard to find and never said where u found it

  12. pretty cool man. if i were you, i'd make it even better and get a small drill bit or something and add some holes to that downstem :smoke:

  13. Hey guys, I actually picked up an 800ml bottle at TJ Maxx today

  14. That's a nice looking homemade peice man .. Nice job, my local hs actually drills and installs a basic glass downstem and slide to any glass bottle you give them, they have different alcohol bottles there as examples look pretty good, especially for the 25 they charge Ive been thinkin about gettin one of a patron bottle or something

  15. very classy homemade piece i must say sir.

If you get your hands on a sandblaster i could see some potential for awesomeness.
