I'm visiting my grandmothers in Nevada (she's on the edge of death and needs her family to be near her) and I didn't bring any pieces so I've been assembling something out of the shit laying around. Here is a picture of what it is (I've done everything except assemble the 2nd perc). I will make it airtight with caulking or airplane glue.. which one would be better? Also since theres no downstem from the bowl (a salt shaker lid) to the water, will it work the same or change anything? My toughts are that it would be no different. Thanks
sounds sketch. the sealing material you plan on using doesn't seem like a good idea. that salt lid is plastic and will melt- then you'll be smokin some nice plastic vapor too. i would get a cheap little pipe or rolling papers from the local gas station.
Why not just use the good ol' pop can instead of going thru all that trouble to smoke plastic and other chemicals
The salt shaker lid is metal, and I burnt the shit out of it to destroy any residue. The sealing method would be nowhere near heat, so thats not a problem. On my previous homemades i used gum lol
personally id say stay away from plastic in general but thats nota option i guess. stick away from glues of al sorts it tends to reheat and shit dangerous to say the least. id say grab an apple and make an apple pipe.
Because smoking out of an aluminum soda can is going to be more harmful for you than plastic could ever be. As long as the smoke is being cooled down before it hits any glue/other plastic, it shouldn't give off fumes unless you're a dumbass and purposely light the plastic on fire and inhale it. I don't see why that wouldn't work, as long as it's air tight. Though I think it'd be better if you got a real slide rather than a salt shaker lid. I'm assuming you're going to have a carb on this, rather than using the lid as a slide?
Yeah theres gonna be a rush hole. Right underneath the lid (a couple inches). Btw this is a large metal salt shaker lid, capable of holding an eighth in it easy haha.. Just gonna load up like 2 grams of chronic and get blazed outta my dome. Also it's silicon Caulking I could use and it would be making the pill bottle perc hole airtight.. under water and on the outside. Theres absolutely no way it would melt or release fumes. I'm just worried that theres going to be a lot of drag due to all of the water + stemless
2 grams is a waste, if it's dank you probably shouldn't need more than a gram TOPS... Drag won't be a problem as long as there's enough airflow through the pill bottle percs - on my homemade pieces, I used a Dremel and would do 5 rows of 20-25 slits/holes. Even though it's not diffusing through all of them, it'd provide enough airyness upon clearing that it felt almost like breathing. Caulking will work to seal it, but I believe that it eventually will come loose so if you were planning to use this piece long term, I believe that JD Weld/Gorilla Glue etc would be better.
ok heres what you do, you get an apple.... then you take a screwdriver and shove that motherfucker right down the top where the stem comes out, then you take the same screwdriver and punch a hole right through the side to the middle so it meets the first hole. load up some bud and hit that shit. oh yeah and i guarantee that you will get caught either making that or someone will find it after your done, so i wouldn't even try.. plus smoking through plastic tastes like shit
Also I have extremely high tolerence and when I get high, i love to get absolutely blazed.. I live in california and usually smoke 3-5 times a day.
well I'm guessing he's a medical patient, so if he's over 18 then it doesn't matter if he "gets caught" or "someone will find it" secondly, I'd have to disagree that smoking through plastic tastes like shit. quite honestly, I get more flavor off the bud from my homemade, plastic, peyote pillar clone (with absolutely no plastic aftertaste...) - than my friend's glass bong (RIP, her house got broken into and the bong was taken amongst other possessions.) edit: not trying to sound like a dick/ignorant here, just stating my opinion on the matter. I think that this paranoia of inhaling plastic fumes is a joke, because as long as you're not a retard putting electric tape or duct tape in the direct path of uncooled smoke, and you're not using tin foil as your bowl, you'll be fine.
I actually just made a bong today. Here's what I used: 1 20oz Mtn Dew bottle 1 18 inch strip of duct tape 1 pen, hollow barrel 1 3 inch strip of electrical tape Temporarily using a bowl made of alum. foil until I can make it to a head shop for a glass bowl It's not the best idea, but it works pretty well. Whole setup took less than 10 minutes. I would only recommend this if you're short on time or money. My estimated total cost for the materials used is about $2 give or take a few pennies.
