  1. I'm thinking about cycling my air pump 1 hour on 1 hour off. I use the same schedule on my AeroGarden for its water pump and have good results. Anyone?

  2. 24/7

  3. No need for the unnecessary complexity of turning an air pump off and on.
Those things draw very little power.
I use this 3 watt version

  4. I have a 20w pump. I'm only considering cycling to extend the pumps life. It is noisier than i would like but can live with it.

  5. You know that the pump doesnt add dissolved oxygen into the water, right? Dissolved oxygen gets into water through surface area of the water making contact with air. Air stones make the water move from the bubbles constantly churning the top so more water touches air and keeps moving so the big air pumps arent doing much more than a small pump. You can use a fast under current instead of air pumps or a waterfall or even a water pump so if you cut the pumps on and off like youre talking about will be absolutely fine. You wont really notice a difference vs running it 24/7 imo.
