Flog my old girl up to 110 coming home on the highway.... it was like hydroplaning over choppy water. But I got it out of my system and know what my car can do now. So yeah
Georgia/ Florida line to Columbia SC in 2 hrs 10 minutes..... you do the math. I-95 to I-20. 1 stop for fuel in walterboro sc took 12 minutes of that time.
Out west I remember when Montana and Nevada didn't have a speed limit . everyone drove as fast as the conditions allowed . Even now we have one road that at night its 211 miles between open gas stations . Seldom do you see a cop on the road .. I always drive it 85 to 100 mph . I have drove many times averaging 110 MPH + for 3 hrs straight .. Most cars dont have enough fuel tank to average 110 HPH for anything over 4 hours . Most cant handle doing 120 MPH for hours for hours straight . I had a 65 T bird that would cruise at 125mph it had a hi performance 390 V8 in it ..
ba ha ha tried to go faster made it to 112mph. sitting just over the peak torque in the rpm range with my foot to the floor and she wasn't doing anything more.
Official court records :..( 154mph, eluded Officer, 1995 Lexus ls400. first time I broke triple digits was when I was 13 in a 98’ Expedition. Adrenaline is my crack
As I travel N/S 75, 95 thru GA,Sc almost my weekly for work pre Covid. I can safely say I will never speed thru those states. It’s outrageous. I just got a $335”super speeder” off my license out of SC for 81 in a 55 in a Sprinter Van lol
tell me was that not the scariest 45 seconds of your life? Did like 105 in a buddies civic and I thought I was in a casket
No, but it felt fast. My Integra has suspension and Falken Azenis tires so I felt pretty safe. It still only has like 90000 miles on it too. I took my buddy to like 120 in it and he was freaking out though, lol.
140 Mph on a yamaha r6 ... when i looked started slowing and sneaked a peak at the speedo .. but 100+ on it feels like 65 in my truck
1964 356 Porsche C. My bro was in jail in Mexicali, one of us bro or sisters drove down there every Sunday morning. Drop down from Laguna mtns & for many miles only curves were up and down. Held full throttle till engine heat gauge rose & backed off till was cool. 88 hp, was going (I would say) slightly over 100mph. Its a small car & it was exhilarating for me. Out of nowhere a Highway Patrol car went by me, musta been going 140 - 150 mph, scared the crap outta me.
Got me a chevy cruze 6 speed manual now, been up to 115mph with it while out at for a 2 am cruze and is absolutely smooth at that speed with guts to spare.
Been to 105 (on the speedometer) on my Ninja 250. But the Ninja speedometers are notorious for being inaccurate. I got clocked by a Park Ranger at 95. That's about top for this bike. After that, it starts to lift off. LOL Fucker only weighs about 300 pounds. I swear if it had wings, it could fly. I was in practice to race at the track at Nelson's Ledges but the track was all fucked up and they closed to repair and I don't think they ever re-opened. Then, suddenly.... I was too old for that shit. LOL At almost 70 years old, I would definitely be the oldest fool on the track. LOL I still ride the Ninja but not at 100 mph speeds any more. It's more of a 'beer rocket' for jumping here and there. A definite must for events where automobile parking is limited. I also still have my Shadow in case I want to lay back instead of lean forward. LOL
