Drill bit size for DIY slide holder?

Discussion in 'DIY and Homemade' started by kellizar, Jun 19, 2011.

  1. Hey everyone,

I want to make a slide holder for myself, and I (will have) the tools, drill press, etc. when I get back to school in August.

How have people made their slide holders? Do you just drill using a 14mm bit, or is there a specific bit for the sloped GoG fitting?

    Thanks.

  2. i would start with a 13mm bit drill a straight hole to the depth of the slide joint in whatever your making the holder out of. and the take a 14 to broaden the hole in the upper portion. test fit after this and then i would probably use a dremel to fine tune the fitment to my liking. ive never done this process but i work on house and sh*t thats just how i would do it.

i recomend test fitting evrytime u drill and starting small is good because u can always make it a bigger hole but if you make it too big you S.O.L.

  3. Understood, I was more wondering if there is a graduated bit on the market in a standard GoG size. Thanks.
