diy Smoke buddy help

You can get carbon at a pet store. Prices will vary though. But it saves you from paying shipping.

 

I got mine at walmart for $6 I believe in the fish section.

 

Also you won't be able to use the same one for 1-2 years. The carbon clogs up in a sense and Stops filtering. There's not to much to making one. Just think of some way to force your smoke to go pass through a pile of carbon haha use some kind of screw on cap so you can swap out carbon and use it for however long you want.

 

Enough to fill up the container, so you may want to get a smaller bottle. You want to force he smoke through the carbon.

 

I've used a sharpie, it was alright but I feel it needed to be wider to fit more carbon. If you want an "industrial" one, try using some PVC pipe and some screw on endcaps. Dril one bigger hole to blow through and drill a bunch of smaller ones randomly on the other end to allow more even flow. Maye glue a screen behind the 1 big hole so the carbon doesn't fall through

 

The more the better. You can buy it in bulk at aquarium stores or walmart for a more expensive and probably inferior grade of activated carbon

 

Not sure if there's really such a thing as quality in activated carbon but you can get bigger rocks which is nice. Also probably cheaper in bulk

If done right all you'll be able to smell is what comes off the bowl. The problem is that when you need it, you'll probably be high. High people tend to fuck up things like remembering to use it after every hit or remembering mid exhale haha but if it's just you and you cover your bowl after every hit and have some ventilation you'll be fine

 

Is this like a sploof?

 

smokebuddies are only like $20 and itll probably last alot longer than whatever you make. ive had mine for like 8 months now and i cleaned it once with rubbing alcohol and its good as new.

also, with the smokebuddy, 0 smell and 0 smoke. all the homeade activated carbon sploofs ive seen take out most of the smell but not the smoke

 

It's a type of sploof. A better alternative to dryer sheets or cologne and a sock. It works by eliminating the smell, not covering it up.

 

All smoke buddy is is an activated carbon sploof. It's just ideally shaped to be as efficient as possible. A well made one works just as well. For $20 you could make one the size of a microwave that just traps the smoke permanently haha. If you don wanna mess with making one a smoke buddy would be a great buy though.

 

How is 5 grams of weed a week not a lot? And if you want it to last years why don't you just cough up the dough for a real smoke buddy?
