I know they are not expensive, but many times you have to buy 5x the amount you need to get the job done. If anyone has already posted about this or come up with the idea feel free to let me know. I just wanted to see if I could make something from what I had in hand and this is what I came up with. The pictures should explain it. They do remove easily so cleaning is just as easy as before.
That's actually a fantastic idea and it doesn't look too ghetto, imo. It would save me the nervousness of jamming a solid piece of plastic onto some thin glass, too. How do you take them off without cutting them?
oh my god! thats genious! thank you blade =) hoping mods sticky this heres to saving possibly hundreds of dollars woth of glass for a dime a dozen !
The bottom at the main joint, just slide around and the top falls off you just have to re-position when you are re-assembling. The top on the AC are not locked in all the way and are just friction fit, but they hold just fine. They actually hold even when they are not folded over just to friction between the two ties. I just played with the colors, most likely going to all black. Here is a front on pick of the 29mm joint and the ac off to the side.
Keck clips are made out of heat resistant plastic or something so it doesn't melt and give off fumes. You can buy them for under a $1 at lab glass sites. Foxyy
to OP that is genius!!! i have to give u rep for that i dont ever remember seeing that! like one of the posters said fumes and heat resistance i would rather go with keck's at my lhs theyre 2 bux and they like pretty sweet imho, but in a jam i will keep this in mind!!!
heat cant reach that part of glass...impossible accually inless you smoke a shit ton of weed...but by the time it gets that hot yur passed out in bed.
No part gets hot enough and the plastic is outside what you are smoking. Plus the 29mm keck clip Ive only been able to find in a 5 pack for 15 dollars and same for the 18.8. They are only designed for 140f I believe though, the actual keck I am speaking of.
Nice idea... Ive been wondering what I could do because my W* has a oddly shaped bistol joint and downstem, its not flat like normal, its ROUND and THICK, so K-clips dont fit
