Hi All - New poster, so I apologize off the bat if I mess up any of the norms. I am about to head back home, and have been spending some time thinking up designs for a DIY Grav for when I get there. I think I have a good concept, but I am not sure how to bring it to reality as far as parts go. My main concerns are as follows : 1) What would work best for part "B", my Y fitting with a controllable in/out flow? (IE Flows IN while filling 2 liter, flip switch and flows OUT while pressing it back down) 2) What diameter vinyl (surgical?) tubing would be best for the hoses? 3) Too much surface area? Think it's too clunky to work? I figure I can punch a hole in the lid of the mason jar pretty easily, either with a screw driver or something(?) a little more professional. I plan on sealing the bowl and whatever hose fitting I go with with high temperature epoxy or something. I know they sell high-temp clay stuff that you knead to activate, and then just form around the stem and the lid of the mason jar. I have used it for hookah repair and that stuff is bulletproof. Probably use the same to seal the Y fitting to the top of the 2 liter. I'll find a less permanent way to seal the hoses, so they can be changed more easily - or detached for transportation. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I guess what I am trying to do is eliminate the fumbling around trying to remove the cap / bowl from the top of the grav bong once you've got it milked. I was also thinking that incorporating a percolator / water filter would be nice. But since 100% of the responses were that it's too clunky, I figured I'd think about another design. Any feedback on 2.0?
