Aloha, My very first (and very tiny) pipe has just come in the mail. It's an adorable little mini corncob, very similar to this: http://www.saddlemt.com/MINI%20CORN%20COB%20PIPE.jpg Not the best of quality, but it was super cheap and came with the basic tools thrown in for free, so I'm still chuffed! Anyway, just as the one in the photograph above, the bowl is pretty rough. I was thinking about varnishing it on the outside only, but reading around a bit tells me this can sometimes be bad for a pipe? What is likely to happen if I do varnish it? And if I'm able to, what should I use? I don't want anything that's going to release supertoxic fumes if it gets heated a little. Many many thanks in advance!
