Hey, I'm interested in converting an old vase laying around the basement storage into a waterpipe. I have various drill bits for glass, but I haven't actually drilled into it yet because I don't have the downstem and slide (the female and male pieces respectively). For the summer while I'm at home, the closest headshop is way too far for me to make the drive out just for what amounts to replacement parts. I checked grasscity for a downstem but I could only find slides. Basically it comes down to: where can I find a matching pair of downstems/bowls? Preferably I'd like a rubber/non glass-on-glass pair just because it's cheaper - my whole motivation for making one is that I want to ideally spend just on the downstem/slide instead of dropping 80 dollars+ on a bong that I won't really be able to appreciate in terms of performance. Also, if I'm reading this correctly, the GC rules state that one cannot link to a competitor's website. However, would it be considered linking to a competitior if the link is to an item not offered in the GC store? If so, don't worry about it, I'll keep looking. Ideally I'd like to buy from the GC store altogether, as there's this grinder I have my eye on, but if they don't have both the downstem and the bowl then I will have to look elsewhere - if someone can point out my ineptitude in searching, please let me know where on the GC site I can purchase the parts I need.
