Did mobius discontinue their nano and strato bongs? Aqua and thecave both no longer show them. Only the new style bubblers and mini beakers. If so why would they get rid of the tubes??? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Doubt they will be making any, any time soon. Found this on there site. Looks like they need to expand their crew. Although since the supply is smaller then the demand they get to charge the big bucks.
I heard aqualabs has or is cancelling their relationship with mobius, they cite quality issues. 2 years ago, mobius was real popular, it's waned a bit since then. The nano and strato, I don't think mobius makes those anymore. You can try jfriendly in towson maryland, I haven't been there in years but they were an authorized mobius dealer and had some of those tubes before (but like 2 yrs ago)
That's interesting about Aqua dropping them. I wonder if it all goes back to when the stereo matrix had a problem. I'm not looking for a nano or strato though. I have a nano and I'm a big fan. Just surprised they would stop making both in favor of a whole line of bubblers. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
This pains my heart so bad, I wanted a nano matrix for the longest but never put the cash aside for one, sucks now they're gonna be even harder to get ahold of
Awe man bud that sucks. Maybe u can get lucky if u start calling around. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Whew, good thing I got my nano matrix before they stopped making them. When I bought mine, he said it was the last 2 they had. I was about to buy a crushed opal mobius bong from them, but didn't have 1 in stock and I called once a week and never got it.
I feel like the nano was so popular. People recommended them all the time. Not sure why they would discontinue it. Unless they have a new design coming out Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Here's a list of "Retired Models" from Mobius: Retired Models I recently made a smoke-test/function video of my Mobius Meso Matrix (retired) with an Inverted Ash Catcher (retired) if anyone's interested:

Hmm... new customers can't buy an advertised brand because there is no supply? Sounds like an opportunity for China to make money on the American market.
But according to some dude yesterday "the Chinese are ripping off the 'artists' that make expensive name brand bongs" because making a nearly identical product at literally 1/10th the price makes them the ones ripping people off. lol. It's amazing the lengths people will go to bend over for companies that don't care about them.
Mobius has been in the same stocking situation since the inception of the brand. I remember seeing them when they dropped on Aqualab over ten years ago. It's mostly clear shit... not even worked. People like it cause it's level and most perks need to be level to function at their maximum. I don't know how China is messing that one detail up every time. They could charge double if they got a laser level in the shop.
In my view some of these Companies/Stores/Accounts ARE precisely, ripping people like John/Circle and Mobius Glassworks off in the most offensive way: Not only do they steal their original creation/design, use possibly inferior materials like the glass itself, and try to duplicate the piece, in quantity with drastically varying degrees of attention to detail (from what I've seen in photos: crooked, off-center, bad proportions, bubbles to ones with no obvious/blatant defects)... Then a lot of them offer to affix a cheap decal of the Mobius name/font to make it officially counterfeit. And Mobius is just a small company that simply can't afford the enormous costs international Trade Mark lawsuits/legal action to stop it. The thing that really attracted me to buy my first Mobius piece (about 9 years ago when they first released the Matrix perc) was they seemed to offer the highest quality, scientific/production work he/they could, but at a price much more affordable than Sovereignty for example. So while they weren't offering me a Disability Discount or anything, it felt good saving up (and hunting across the state & country) for the few, authentic Mobius Glasswork products I own. And while they were once production models, each provides a unique smoking experience. That said, I've been in need of a replacement for my old Leisure bubbler I accidentally killed years ago as a daily-driver/ frequent-use piece. Ideally it would provide the best percolation/diffusion needed for a smooth, yet flavorful smoke, but not wanting to spend/nor having, anywhere near the $300 another Leisure bub would cost. I just don't have that kind of money to risk on something likely to get broken or damaged in use rather than attract dust in a collection. So when I found an attempted duplicate of a $400+ piece for under $40, including shipping. I decided to risk it and ordered it. And while I'm eager to see the final product, it's getting thoroughly disinfected first!
I haven't seen any evidence that good fakes are any worse than the real one. Regardless of even if that's true there are really good fakes so they can't be much worse at all. People are going to be biased and defend the real one because they spent so much on it and want to defend their purchase. When someone offers basically the same thing for a fraction of the price I'm not complaining. Don't charge 400 for a bong and get upset when I'd rather spend 40 for something that most people couldn't tell the difference from and even if they could they probably wouldn't really give a shit. I don't feel bad for them. If they charged a reasonable price I could sympathize. But they don't so I don't.
Chinese imitation/counterfeit piece (I call it a Fauxbius): It's based on the Mobius Atom, but is much larger with thinner glass and different angles on the mouthpiece. Noticeable cosmetic flaws include off center work throughout, rough cuts for mouthpiece... and while you may not believe it, there is a very noticeable difference between not only this and my Mobius Glassworks pieces. Especially since this has larger proportions, it produces an "airier" smoke. It's not a personal waste of money, but it's no comparison to the authentic original.
