  1. Or if you are an introvert like me, this has no phasing me mentally on you whatsoever because I've already been isolating at home since long before that.

You would defend your subjugators as your head slid into the guillotine. People like you are baffling, like is it naivety driven by fear or something else? I'm probably the crazy one though I'm sure you're right in thinking governments are not Machiavellian in nature and have your best interest in mind, I mean clearly history teaches us that.

  3. That wasn't an answer. I am not a sheep, but neither am I a fool.
We are not discussing overall views of government, we are talking pandemic recommendations and actions.
The sheep are the ones following the ill advised and ill informed that has the mysterious feeling that their rights are being trampled whilst refusing to take any responsibilities.

  4. All rules suck. We should have guidelines only. We should be treated as adults and it should be up to us if we want to risk eating out or go bar hopping. Keeping ourselves healthy is our personal responsibility, it's not the government's responsibility.

  5. I let my experience advise me personally. So like after witnessing my grandmother rapidly decay over the past year in an old folks home unable to see more than 2 relatives, I took it under advise that maybe the government shouldn't have the right to take my grandmothers reason for living away, her grandchildren. Then after witnessing a friend and another family member close their small businesses after more and more restrictions limited their customer base I took it under advise that maybe government shouldn't have the right to arbitrarily take their right to work and earn a living away. It get's in my bonnet I guess when governments are allowed to make rules that were not previously agreed upon by my constituents that ruin people I know lives.

  7. I think the aim is herd mentality, not immunity.

  10. unless it comes to a women wanting an abortion eh?

  11. so how about the J&J CEO, who is a veterinarian and not an MD, announcing that a third jab of their vaccine will be required to "maintain immunity".

would it be worthwhile to anyone to list the J&J CEO's biography, associations, memberships, and affiliations to understand the play going on here?

has anyone heard anything about the flu? last year or this year? i guess that corona virus went bye-bye :confused_2:

  13. I saw a commercial the other day for a drug that said that it could potentially KILL a fetus. I've heard of people charged with double murder for KILLING a pregnant woman and her fetus.

Why do I mention this? In most cases people understand that a fetus is alive. Mysteriously, a mother can kill her own unborn child and many are ok with this. How is it not murder? Why should any one have to tell you not to kill your own offspring?

  14. I do totally understand this argument and I personally couldn't do it. But, the hard honest truth about abortion is no matter how hard anyone tried to stop them, they will still happen.

The only humane thing to do is make it a safe procedure and educate the hell out of young adults because we all know that's the ONLY thing that will, at the least, bring the numbers down considerably. But the ones pushing to end it are also pushing for asinine education like abstinence.

  15. I think you're right on the education part for sure as well as the inevitability of abortions happening. Herbal abortions have been around thousands of years and is still practiced in some parts. If unsuccessful they can lead to severe deformities.
Personally I feel it is a form of human sacrifice to the modern gods of materialism. I don't expect others to see it my way. I appreciate and understand what you are saying.

  16. Starting June 1 Alaska will start giving out covid-19 vaccinations to visitors.
"Governor Dunleavy also announced that there will be free COVID-19 vaccinations available for out-of-state visitors starting on June 1. He said the first of two doses from Pfizer and Moderna will be available at airports in Anchorage, Juneau, Fairbanks and Ketchikan."

“And we have plenty of vaccine, we do not lack vaccine,” said Heidi Hedberg, Alaska’s director of public health.

That's right folks, free testing and free vaccinations right at the airport. Don't tell Gretchen Witmer, she will be pissed.
    cheers

  18. Interesting. I see it as a completely different situation for each and every woman. I remember escorting a neighbor to get an abortion because the baby was growing in her fallopian tube rather than the womb (ectopic pregnancy). The protesters outside the clinic yelled, berated, spit and got very angry at us but mostly her. I guess her face was scared so they new she was the one who was receiving the abortion. I couldn't even begin to explain to these folks why she had no choice. Both her and baby would have died.

I knew one other girl in highschool who got one because she feared her ultra-religious father's wrath (physical abuse) and was sure he would kick her out. She felt helpless and desperate.

I think some couples who decide are uneducated and use it as a form of birth control. I think every women or couple have their individual stories and reasons.

But, again, I would love for there to be good honest and compulsory sex ed in high where there is no holding back as far as helping young ones understand how it's much easier to NOT get pregnant than it is to have an abortion.
