Cheap DIY hemp wick dispenser

So a few nights ago I couldn't sleep after reading the hemp wick dispenser thread. I tossed and turned for a while before I decided on some materials most people have lying around their house and decided to try to build it last night, having my wife take some photos. Takes about 10 mins to put together and works pretty good.


Materials needed:
1 pill bottle not bigger than your lighter ^two examples above
1 scotch tape roll
1 pen - not necessary but might help
1 lighter (mine are bic and a dollar store lighter)
1 knife (sharp, but not sharp enough to cut your fingers off)
Hemp wick

STEP 1: Use the knife to cut around the tape like below


So that when you separate them, they look like this:


Next, cut a slit going across the lid of the pill bottle so that there's an X across it like this: (this is where you'd use the pen if you needed it, to just draw your lines)


Next, cut out one square, like this:


and another



Compare the lighter to the hole:



and make sure it fits



Now take the inside of the tape roll



and wrap the hemp wick around it



Then put it around the lighter



and make sure to pull the wick through the top

Final result will look like this:

if you're like me and married, because you only cut out the inside of the tape roll, you can put it back on the dispenser so you don't piss off your wife

Works well and only takes a couple minutes to put together. Thought I'd share my idea with the GC family so that you guys can save a bit of money until that other wick dispenser comes out. Peace.

Not really, since you don't get your lighter all nasty with beeswax, plus, you can pull lighters out and change them as you please. You can think what you want, you seem to have your mind made up anyways, regardless of my response. I'm sure it will help others who are more optimistic about its function.

that humboldt sample was so good, I wish it'd lasted me longer. I think it was only like 1-2ft, it only lasted me about 2 or 3 days I think. I'm unemployed, otherwise I would've ordered the biggest spool that they have. I'd also like to get a hakko or a herbiron.

 

Its only 4 dollars and 20 cents to order their 50 foot spindle, shipping is like 35 cents. Cheaper than a pack of cigarettes or a burger at most fast food places....

Glad you enjoyed it though. You ever get around to buying some, try to make this hemp wick dispenser or improve on it. I'm excited to see what else other people come up with. Think I might remake this again with other things laying around the house. Just have to think of something most people have just laying around.

Haha, I know right. Last night my wife wrapped the hemp wick around the tape thingy and I just went to pull some out and it was all wrapped wrong, so nothing would come out.

I grabbed the big spool of wick and used it for a minute, got frustrated and then rewrapped the wick around the tape thing so it'll work again.....I'm pretty used to using it and prefer it now. Much better than having a loose piece of string as well, as I lose those damn things all over the house and find them as I'm vacuuming.
