Changing light cycle back to 24/0

  1. So when I saw the first signs of flowering for my Auto Flower, I changed the light cycle to 12/12 even though I know with autoflowers it doesnt really matter. Now, I'm kinda regretting doing that as she's taking forever, so my questions are, would it be bad if I change the light cycle again back to 24/0? Would that affect her growth?

  2. In my opinion, it all depends on how long the plant has been in that switch, if it's been less than a week, cut the lights back on, if it's been more, leave em off or at least go up to 18hrs. You could see a hermie plant but it's doubtful.

  3. She's been on 12/12 for almost 4 weeks, can I still change then back to 18hrs? She's feminized, would there be a chance that the change of light cycle could make her a hermie plant?
I've uploaded few pics to show how far she is into flowering. Thanks in advance

  4. Yeah man they are already showing flowers so keep it going 12/12. Even if it feminized, you can definitely hermie your plant that way and I would NOT revert back to 24/0 or even 18/6. If you go more than 14 hours light, the plant thinks it is in veggie mode and will revert, causing it to hermie.

  5. Ok, good thing I asked for advice before doing it. I will just have to be patient, i didn't realise that even feminized plants can hermie.

  6. You will be fine. The hormonal changes that occur as a result of light cycle in photoperiod plants are the cause of hermaphrodite issues. With autos, the hormonal balance isn’t dependent on light cycle.

  7. HALF WRONG. The plant changes hormones when the environment is rapidly changed due to the plant going into a "preservation mode" if you will, in order to ensure survival it hermies and pollinates itself, hence why different growth occurs (pollen sacs) to pollinate to make seeds. It is not just a light thing.. Autos will hermie if you change up the light schedule drastically all the time. I didn't catch earlier that you were growing a Auto, I thought it was a photoperiod plant. But even so, try 18/6 at your own risk if you want but their is always a risk. <--- And I know for a fact Autos will flower at any amount of lighting HOWEVER, when you get to changing the intensity of light by lengthening/shortening the day frequently, it can definitely cause problems. But hey, what do I know?

  8. I grow both photos and autos and I end up moving my autos from my veg to flower tent and back every so often. I haven't ever had a problem with it but that's just my experience.

Maybe increase the temp (81-86F) and turn up the intensity on your lights. The added heat will increase metabolism and the added light will increase photosythesis. Perhaps you can help it finish a little faster with these changes if you decide not to change your light schedule up.

  10. I will try to increase the temperature. Though that's the max light I have. Thanks

  11. RH will want to drop as temp increases. Try to keep RH 45%+.
