I just made my first batch of infused coconut mct oil with the LĒVO II and I want to calculate its potency. I have all the info I need I’m just not sure whether I should plug in the initial amount of oil I put in or how much oil I yielded at the end into the equation. I started with 12g of 18.46% ground flower and 17oz of oil. My end yield is about 15oz. So when plugging all the numbers in, should I use 17 or 15? Also I read that mct oil has an absorption rate of about 81% so should I take my final number and multiply it by 0.81 to get a more true dosage? Thanks for any input and information!
You can use whole numbers and round up as you should still test against your personal tolerance and do the slow workup until you feel comfortable with your dosing. 12 grams of 15% weed is 1800 milligrams of THC Divided by 17 is 105mg per full ounce of oil. Really weak oil and I'd be trying to choke down an entire ounce of oil for a good dose. And that much MCT-Coconut oil would give me a royal case of the runs. (Diarrhea). Many of us use BadKats recipe. Decarb 240 F for 40 minutes uncovered 5 grams Decarbed Kief or Hash or Powdered buds 1 tablespoon Coconut oil 1/2 teaspoon Lecithin Combine Heat 220 F for 20 minutes Freeze Heat 220 F for 20 minutes. Done. Kief-Hash 1 drop = 3mg Powdered Buds 1 drop = 1mg With any first time recipe testing is as follows Take 10milligrams of THC Wait 2 full hours if not stoned Take 20mg more wait 2 additional hours If not stoned Take 40mg more wait again Keep doubling the dose and wait between until your stoned enough. Thanks! I’ll be sure to try out that recipe. It only yields a tablespoon or so of finished product? And since I use the LĒVO to make my infusions, I think there’s a minimum level of oil you need to make. Also my girlfriend has very low tolerance and takes half a Wyld gummy to get high (like 2.5-5mg) so I’m thinking/hoping my first batch is an optimal strength for her.
Most of the so called Cannabis machines have to high a minimum amount of oil for my use. They make way to weak an oil for my needs. If it's working for your needs then by all means continue using it. For my own wife and for finding a new users dose range I make up a mess of 1 drop capsules (3mg) and they can work up gradually to find their happy place. BNW
