ok so in my rig i have this isssue where sometimes the pearl just sits there in the middle. i have a curved bottom banger and the correct carb cap for it which has the vortex facets thing is that when not dabbing if i put the cap on and draw on the rig i can get it to spin using like a one two start breath technique like a couple sharp draws to give it momentum and then it spins perfect but when the dab goes in the same way wont work consistently, even if the dab size is small..i literally have to shake the rig to get the spin to start my rig is only small so i wonder if its something to do with that but id appreciate any insights from people who have seen similar issues
I use a 25mm deep dish My guess here is the size of the pearl and the material I use 8,6 and 4mm pearls depending on the concentrate What size pearl are you using and what kind of concentrate New to this myself
yeah i am using the same one as in your picture, the round bottom my pearls are 4 6 and 8 as well and i'm dabbing solventless rosin. my issue is mainly that it is so inconsistent. I tried with smaller pearls, 2 of them, same issue. right now im on a 6mm and while it does work its inconsistent. like even with a similar size dab of the same rosin, two dabs can yield starkly different spins of the terp pearl. twisting the carb cap also doesnt seem to help while actually dabbing but i note that spinning it when its cold/not dabbing when drawing gives the pearls momentum but it just doesnt do the same when the dab is in i am hitting at around 600 but i still get a puddle. if i go higher it can burn so im trying to find the optimal for this banger i have the flat bottom ones as well and i dont like them because they had like this little indentation in the centre, so while the pearls spin great in those, that indentation is super hard to keep spotless and it eventually gunks up and the taste gets affected so i went with the curved bottom ones..but now this inconsistent spin issue
I'm using a disorderly conduction PID at around 500f (260c) May go to 550 (289c) Started with two pearls but moved to a single 6 For rosin and badder or 8 for diamonds and shatter Have some tasty live resin waiting for the weekend that I will start on a 6 Wondering if the pearl has carbon build up or residue build up making it tacky at 600 Are you cleaning after every dab? Have to ask I'm definitely getting an ultrasonic cleaner They make smaller ones in the $50 range Saves a lot of aggravation
Need a decent seal between the cap and the banger, and you need some good air velocity. Glass and pearls need to be really clean too. It wasn't until I got a good cap before I got good action with my pearls.
Also, never allow the pearls or banger to get gunked up, wipe with a qtip when its still warm after each hit to get the residue out, and wipe it again with alcohol and a dry q tip to really make sure the residue is gone. Nothing worse than going to torch the rig for another dab when there's still crap in the banger or on the pearls.
Not sure what kind of cap you have but look into a spinner or cyclone cap. Once I found one that sealed well it really helped spin the pearls up, the air comes in lower down, already at an angle, make the pearls spin right off the floor of the banger onto the wall of it with little effort. Really helped smear the concentrate around for a nice thorough hit. Very little waste.
yeah i clean after every dab. my pearls are also cleaned separately after each dab. i have used ultrasonic cleaners for years but i find that they often die due to poor electronic components (i have had many fail over the years) so now I tend to clean everything using a combination of salt/alcohol
Yeah I think they are meant to be used sparingly for jewelry etc. Not everyday for bangers The glass is too small and delicate for my ham hands I break a lot of shit so the cleaners are worthwhile
Directional carb caps like the one pictured don't spin pearls continuously. As others stated you need a spinner or cyclone cap. Also bigger pearls push thru the oil better without needing to spin at top speed.
My rigs on now at 390f. It was on 480f earlier and looks clean with water on qtip after every dab. I have a second 6mm Diamondium pearl coming in the mail soon.

It's a disorderly conduction pid. The 3d printed box has a few gaps on top. Cheap but works well. The nails coil is from 710coils in 220v. The other coil is a vrod coil in 220v from cannabis hardware.
I have a couple of those spinner tops too, from quartzbangers.com. One of the spinner tops seemed to work much better than the other even though they were the same exact spinner top. Your size of piece and how much water you have in it can effect the spin, I recommend trying to put less water in your piece see if that helps. You may want to reach out to them, if your pearls and banger are clean and still no spin action, the spinner may have been made funny.
When I was researching the spinners some of the reviews said the pieces were inconsistent The holes for circulating the air varied in size and sometimes were not holes If you have a head shop maybe buy there so you can return or exchange easier I buy cheap ones because my cats are assholes
Yeah I got a two pack spinner cap, came with 6 pearls for like $20 on amazon? a couple pearls were crap, and one cap works better than the other, but kinda the price you pay getting cheap stuff. I ain't mad, my buddy has a really nice cap but it cost him $450, it looks cool as shit, but I don't want to be the one to break it.
yeah the rig size affects it for sure. also what i have found out since from a friend is that bangers need to be "seasoned". for example once I used the banger several times and it developed a slight cloudiness on the bottom when i heated it up, after that no more issue with the terp pearls not spinning. now, i use either 3 x 4mm pearls or 2 x 6mm depending on the rosin im using.
