Has anyone ever had any luck building an Erlenmeyer flask bong. I have two flasks each made of genuine Borosil glass, and i am told is as good or better than pyrex. I just bought two glass bowls and stems, but need some advice on what kind of stoppers to use. I think it would look cool if i could find a transparent stopper, but never seen one. Pipe in if you have some ideas. I have some education grade blue stoppers but they seem to be oily when pushed into the flask mouths. I will try to post some pics later.

  2. i just made this guy yesterday: IMG_0151.JPG
This probably isnt the same type of erlenmeyer you were going to use since it has the vacuum hole there on the side, which i just use as the mouth piece and i put the down stem straight in through the open top, but i can tell you about the rubber pieces i used. Right now you can see there are two layers of rubber around the down stem. I bought them both at my local smoke shop, theyre designed for hookahs. However those two together dont work extremely well, but they do work, because the white rubber is soft if it gets wet it slides right out of the opening on its own. The rubber stopper i will use once i get around to replacing this system is the black rubber stopper (its called a #6, just because of its size) #6 Rubber Stoppers just like those, I'll drill a hole into it just big enough for the down stem and it will hold tight. I know you're probably planning on putting the downstem through the side of your bong but either way that rubber stopper will work. just drill a hole

  3. damn that is legit as fuck.

    nice build

  4. wow man, sick little peice there!

I don't know if it would work, but how about a cork stopper instead of rubber, i think it would look cool and more "classy" than rubber.

haha an erlenmeyer flask was one of the first "pieces" that a friend and i created and smoked out of. aptly named it "the chemist" and it definitely ripped :p you should name that piece "the mad scientist" i like the creativity.

  6. No! No! No! You're all doing it wrong! Lol use a florence flask! They work a lot better :)

  7. Smokeyjoewood that is an impressive piece.
We used to make bubblers from stealing different flasks, rubber stoppers, and different tubes from chemistry class back in high school. That bong surpasses anything I ever did though. Why is it so fun to build pieces, even when we can buy awesome professionally made ones? Ive always liked trying to make my own pieces, good stuff :smoke::smoke:

  8. Dude, that's a sick bong.

  9. I also built one but its not amazing i used an old metal pipe as a mouthpeice and a Erlenmeyer flask with a gas tube conecter as the main body the orange tubing i also from the lab. The gas stopper has a hole running through it to allow the downstem fit in. Hope you like it. I have used it once was not too bad but i imagine the fumes wouldn't be too good for my well being.

  10. Man, no way would I make a bong with a round bottom. Even if it's flattened to allow it to stand up, it's going to tip.
