Bowl/Downstem broke need help

Discussion in 'DIY and Homemade' started by Shard, Aug 30, 2012.

  1. I understand that it would be best for me to buy a whole new bowl/downstem but I'm on a very limited budget. Seeing as it's limited I'd rather spend it on MJ than tools to smoke it with.

But! If I can make a new downstem/bowl for my bong then why not?

I know that a socket can be used but I have no clue how to keep weed from going through it I don't really have screens available that wont get burnt/melted.

If I do use a socket, how would I go about making a downstem? Any suggestions?

    My bong is glass.

Here it is the day after I bought it.

  2. Honestly I would just save up a little and get a decent replacement. If you don't have enough money to get some bud and a glass bowl maybe it would be a good idea to take a break anyway.

  3. I ended up using a door stopper.

Take a break? Never! Just because I can only allow a certain amount within my budget for bud doesn't mean I need to take a break. If anything it just means I'm good with my money.

I'm on a college student budget, I just paid out a bunch to start a grow. So for now, it's time for a ghetto bowl.

  4. Ever need a screen bro, take a pair of apple headphones and break one of the buds and take the wire screen. Cut to the size you want, works like a charm

  5. Try a local headshop, you could probably find something decent for less than $30

  6. Thanks for that had no clue, I'll give it a try.

Strawbearee, I know what prices I'm looking at. When I say I'm on a strict budget. I mean it. $30 is out of the question for what I want to/can afford to spend on marijuana tools at this moment in time. But I thank you for the advice anyway. If I could magically find a bowl for the maximum price of $10 (lol) then I would buy it... But I do not know of any local head shops that sell em that cheap.

Also, spending $30 on a bowl for a $30 bong is rather silly.

  7. Go out an buy a stainless steel mesh tea ball. Cut a section out of it. Then cut it down to size to fit the bowl.

  8. Oh wow I forgot about tea balls it's perfect because I have a few sitting around here!

Heh I actually have these over apple ear plugs.

  9. Yep. I've used tea balls for all my homemade, and for fixing one bowl I have.
