Every time after i clean "Dirty Aunt Linda" she looks great for about 5 minutes but then once she starts drying a light white residue covers the inside of her. I use the alcohol method with salt then rinse with hot and cold water and everytime I get the same results. Am I doing something wrong?? Thanks GC Stay High
Its probably a calcium or other mineral buildup from the water. I use clr to get it off mine but I believe vinegar also works
ya its mineral buildup from the tap water, let it soke in a 50-50 water vinegar mix. Make sure to use bottled water when you rinse it too
Thats not dirt. You most likly DID clean all of the resin from the glass, but you probably have very hard tap water in your area, which is leaving hard water stains on your bong. In the future, try to only use filtered water or bottled water to avoid hard water stains. To get rid of hard water stains: Soak piece in distilled white vinegar OVERNIGHT and rinse with COLD tap water thoroughly. Right before putting it out to dry, do a final rinse with filtered or bottled water.
yea i wondered why this happened to my bong as well. after i clean it with the vinegar and bottled water will the build up go away?
ya it works wonders on keeping your glass clean. go to walmart and get the large bottle of lemon juice for $2 and it will last you for a whilee. just put in a small amount after you clean your piece bam clean glass for twice as long lol..
yeah this works but be carefull it will erase the sandblasted label on the outside of your bong! my toro is labless now which makes it look kinda cool
I was just wondering this last night as one of mine was perfectly clean, but very cloudy. Stupid Los Angeles tap water! Guess I'll be buying more cases of bottled water in the future!
I have no idea of this works to remove calcium from the water but it might be worth a try: It's a pitcher by Brita.. google 'brita pitcher' if you have no Walmart in your area..
its weird cuz i use tap water for my bong n i still got lil calcium stains..well looks like calcium i will try the vinegar method n see what happens
Hell yeah, thanks for this old thread, cool shit im gonna try that lemon juice. I use tobacco as a screen cause I'm addicted to the synergistic effect with pot, gotta clean it frequently and use a brush with strong isopropyl.
You should get a vape or a juul or something instead of inhaling unfiltered tobacco like that. That shit is brutal on your lungs. Of course quitting nicotine entirely is always better if you can but at least try to minimize the harm. If you need a replacement for a screen use glass screens and or cbd hemp flower. I use both since I don't want to clog my matrix percs and I like the CBD mellowing everything out.
Quitting heroin is easier then nicotine, that's a proven fact. Nicotine actually rewires the brain so it really does need it to function right. That's why it's so damn hard to just quit.
I've used a juul plenty enough to be "addicted" and don't find it hard to go without it. I've gone for weeks and not really cared that much. I'm not saying nicotine isn't addictive because of course it is but what a complete joke to say it's easier to quit heroin. Have you seen someone withdrawal from heroin or any opiate? People get violently sick and feel like they're going to die, and I'm pretty sure literally can from it. If someone stops using nicotine the worst they get are cravings, irritability, anxiety, on edgeness. In my experience the side effects are minimal too. Also this didn't even relate to my post anyway. It seems like you're one of those professional victim type nic fiends who wants to justify why you can't quit. Either that or you believe those overblown studies about how terrible and addictive nicotine is which probably give big tobacco a raging hard on since people believe it and then through placebo think quitting is a million times harder than it really is.
it was a reply to the quitting of nicotine, if you dont know cigarette company's have been adding additives that make it more addicting, and about opiates, been there done that many times due to medical issues. Ya it sucks, ya it can kill you just stopping them, but for someone that's smoked for over 20 years and have tried everything known to man to quit I find it's a struggle that many would agree on. And its medically proven it's harder due to all the shit they have added to it.
