I’ve used rubbing alcohol and salt won’t clean under the honeycomb Perc , Any ideas tips ? Cheap cleaners ??
What strength? I use 99% iso and sea salt. If it is real bad then let it soak for an hour. Make sure to save your iso in Tupperware for your bowls. Also rinse bong with extra hot water. Another thing, where dish gloves so the iso doesn't go on your skin.
71% hard to find anything higher around here . I’d expect it to clean it a little bit but ineffective…
Well you could probably order higher % alcohol on amazon or something. But if that's not possible you could always try to concentrate the alcohol to make it into a higher percentage. Also use hot water to help loosen up the resin, not boiling but like really hot from the tap for a while should help loosen it up. The salt helps to scrub it off so be generous with that too.
Go to your hardware store. Look for the alcohol based hand sanitizer that they are selling for around $4 - $6 per gallon. Fill that bong up with it with a little salt. Course salt is better. Shake it up every once in a while and let it sit at least over night, better yet two nights. May have to repeat a few times, but it will work. Then rinse it very well. Once you get it fully clean, do it more often to prevent bad buildup. I've purchased 10 gallons of that hand sanitizer. It is great at cleaning trimming shears, your hands after handling bud, bongs, pipes, and anything else that needs those sticky things mopped up and is much cheaper than buying alcohol. They are practically giving it away.
How many times did you try? Shake, rinse, repeat. I've never had alcohol / salt not work but had to give it a couple shots.
Well considering hospitals use iso to clean up skin before ops, I don't think that's a problem. That's the active ingredient in hand sanitizer man. And anyways op, try degreaser as well or everclear. Basically you need the highest strength pure alcohol you can find or degreaser with dish soap. And if it's ever clear you could actually drink it too if you want a crossfade for a job well done after you get that bong clean.
Alcohol dries out skin pretty bad. Either way, just buy some bong cleaner. Every local head shop has it and it works miracles.
Sat for hours yes I repeated process multiple times couldn’t get this grime off , does vinegar help ? Like mixing it with rubbing alcohol or using it itself. ?? I used max amount of salt and iso that would fit and shake well , soaked it fully also .
420 cleaner is pretty expensive I can check but any cheaper alternatives ? Rubbing alcohol on Amazon cost a lot .. Only the resin under the perc won’t clean
Try Ooze resolution. It will gel up and stick to the percs once you shake it around. Then you let it sit overnight and it will break all that crap down and you just rinse it clean the next day. The longer you let it sit, the better it cleans.
10% is still less alcohol then pure 70% iso which does not even phase this gunk under the perc . It cleaned the rest tho very well . Maybe pure 90 iso or a cleaning product .. could work
Have you tried oxiclean or some super strong shit like that? That seems like the next step if nothing else is working
I just use hot tap water and blast it through my pipes and bongs. No cleaners or alcohol or salt or any of that. Pressurized hot water is more than enough to knock it free. I have a little piece of tubing I can fit on my sink and connect it to my pipe or bong. No need to soak just start blastin' ...I have a spray bottle too that I fill up with hot water and have a piece of tubing extending the sprayer. I can just shove that lil tube in there and pressure wash it from the inside with hot water to get the hard to reach areas... ..and to clean out my grinder screen, iso in a spray bottle and just start blastin'
