That’s the thing about knock off China class and many websites online don’t list the glass thick Ness Puffing bird , budda glass and a few other sites don’t show thickness or specs so how do you know what’s thick ? Even some on g city lack thicknesses and are probably 3mm. Spectacular bongs in last few threads , is the basic clear one China glass? Occasionally every site has listed Glass thickness but not on every product. If you are asking about my basic clear one I really am not sure. I purchased it from a local head shop, the glass is very thick. Have you checked out aqualab? They carry a lot of quality glass in what seems to be your price range ~$100. This one was supposed to be 9mm but the base is half as thin , and doesn’t have enough percolation but it should hold me off til a big sale shows up . It’s a step up from the Amg bong , but not endgame bong. I definitely want one with multi Percolators.. the ice kind of acts like a perc , once weed was rehydrated it didn’t taste as bad. But no perc , except downstem which I wonder if a Better downstem perc would help it . It’s certainly close to what I want then my old Amg basic perc no ash catcher is harsher .
You only need so much percolation. Once you get into multiple percs the bong better be made well or the drag will be a nightmare, especially with an ash catcher thrown on.
Yeah sometimes the downstem perc is enough, it’s hard to rip that one 16” is tall for me . Sometimes I gotta take a drink in between hits or even before I inhale it … Not sure if a matrix or better downstem would do anything… I need a 5.5” one I’m using 5”.. Could go a little smaller w/ multi percs but nothing as large as this one unless it’s low drag. Weed quality is probably more so the issue , but better filtration could fix it or make it smoother. Usually end of the bowls , taste worse . No ash catcher adds more dirty ash to the bong .
I feel like you've made a million threads asking a million questions like this and most answers are gonna be pretty subjective. Buy what you feel is worth it and you think you'll like. Chances are you will. It's kind of like asking what food is the best. Depends on your taste.
yeah, it seems there aren’t many bad choices .. avoid thin glass , not sure if eBay or dh is safe may be thinner . Maybe some China stuff is cheap enough to try .. Maybe I’ll wait til a big sale .. Yeah and get a longer downstem, add ash catcher.
A nice downstem with good percs would definitely help. Also though, the correct size downstem would help. However you seem to be searching for a new bong when you haven't even got the correct downstem for the bong you have.
Yeah I’ll just to find a decent downstem, don’t expect a different bong with multi perc to be that much better… Maybe matrix or something tree perc who knows .. I more less wanted a similar one with percs so I could clean one on one day , use other then next day . But an ash catcher might do just as good ? It’s more so the weed being dried out I think not so much the Bong , could be a little smoother but the ice acts like a second perc . Thick glass keeps it cooler too except the bass ofc 4-5mm is still thick. Although looks pretty fragile , so I put a diy protector on it . $60 was too much for base saver can always get it when I have more $.

Amg I can’t use til I get one for both bongs , the la pipes is a lot nicer . I guess this style of bong is still really nice , some brands just cost a lot more . Trying to make ice in downstairs freezer is annoying .. cleaning downstem often helps also .. need are glass accessories.. Downstem and Bowl and ash catcher. Can wAit and research look at stuff however.. Clean the bowl Before each refill. Even without ice it seems fine if I clean bong once or twice a day . Must cost a lot spectacular looking bong way better filtered then what I’m using, it seems the la pipes is a lot smoother without ice due to size go figure 16”. Like $500+ I don’t see price listed.. These bowls are way smoother then the yellow one one I was using but much shorter.. need something like these taller . Too small needs constant refilling , way better tasting though built in screeen vs one hole slide .
I have a 9mm and it's 9mm everywhere. Get a good downstem with a perc. Matrix percs are pretty good. I have one and that bong is smooth.
