Hello Grass city. i been a trolling around here the last few weeks and learning so much. Mostly about vaping.For that I thank you. Figured it was time to make some friends. Here is my contribution to GC. today i was at the local cornerstore and stumbled across a simple glass bong. very small. it had a glass stem. i immediately knew how i would make my home made vaporizer. i have this small blow torch from BENZOMATIC . its the micro torch kit. its like a three in one torch. it can shoot a flame, solder a wire with a tip or it could be used as kind of like a small heat gun. anyway i dropped a screen in the bottom of the stem and packed next to nothing in on top of it. i kid you not the amount i used was maybe .2 worth of brick swag. i put the heat to the top of the stem and drew the heat past the herb at the bottom of the stem. worked like a charm.the hot air passing through the herb can be agjusted by simply moving the torch away. i got 4 lung busting hits out of it and no combustion whatsoever. im so proud of this i had to register and share. also is it unhealthy using the heat from burning butane? seems too good to be true. heres a few pics and i will post a vid as soon as my room mate gets home. i look forward to getting to know you guys. cheers!
sorry the video sucks. i was lit like a christmas tree and all i could film it with was my blackberry. also my camera man was superman high. we spoked about 1 g worth of swag and got hammered 3 time throughout the night. im getting better at holding the torch just far enough to vape and not burn. im so happy. this is a big step up from the lightbuilb. comments good or bad are welcome. damn thats some pretty awesome homemade, nice job, as for the butane , its apparently unhealthy to directly put the butane flame and inhale like in a bowl or bong thats why some use beeline or hempwick, i doubt they reach the temp on the torch you got though.
thanks man. yea thats the only bad thing about the setup is the butane vapors. kinda counter productive of what im trying to achieve. you know vaping is healthier yada yada yada. its all good. i tried using a bic but the flame wont generate enough hot air on tap and if i get the flame too close it ignites it. i just really started looking into vaping just recently and im still in the honeymoon stage. i ordered an Easy Vape and it should be here any day. i got an infared thermometer that i will be using to try to calibrate the digi temp screen with the knob. ill document that experience as well.
To my understanding, unless you have an oxygen rich environment--like in a laboratory, you will always have carbon monoxide as a by product too. That is what I have been taught, if I remember correctly though.
Minez better But I agree, I have two of those torches and love the hot air blower attatchment. I've got trouble getting the right setting though 4 seems too high and burns the weed to easily and anything less it's hard to get a good hit.
i agree. but for 50$ and a badass grinder, i couldnt go wrong. i got 12 people vaped with just around 3 grams of swag. as far as quality it was in pieces when it arrived. i had to tear it down and rebuild it. seem alot sturdier now. the grinder already has a fine layer of nice kief. good time last night.
