Best home made screen?

Discussion in 'DIY and Homemade' started by Ninty, Aug 27, 2009.

  1. I wind up home making a lot of my pieces but the ratchets I use have holes too big. I'd rather not use foil so what is the best screen I can make from common objects?

  2. unscrew the cap on a faucet in ur house and there shud b a perfect little metal screen in there

  3. I agree most sinks have a screen.
or run to the hardware store and get some brass ones.

find a pepple to throw into the socket. That will also work and its free and safe for the environment. sense it is the environment.

  4. The sink idea seems like a good one but I guess I'll have to go to a hardware store thought because all the sinks in my house seem to have the screen permanently attatched.

  5. spiral a paper clip

  6. the screens on ipod headphones

  7. lmao, they're plastic.^
you usually can get screens off under a fossit if you use a knife to pick at it, or you can buy them real cheap at a headshop.

  8. they are actually NOT plastic because ive used them back in the days

u can get screens around your house from

    -faucet aerator
-iPod ear buds or other headphones that have that screen
-window screens BUT some of them are PLASTIC so u gotta find a metal one
-tea strainers/strainers - they come in plastic but alot of them are stainless steel
-or u can go to the hardware store and buy some brass screen
-and a lot of audio and old computer cables like the monitor cables and other "thick" cables have a woven metal mesh outside the inner wires and under the plastic insulation
-if u cant find any of those things u can go down to a local tobacco store and by a set of pipe screen that are cut into circles for about $1 or cheaper

thats all i can come up with 4 now
