AVB

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by reggie_watts, Jun 21, 2016.

  1. So, I have a big jar full of AVB. What should I do with it?

  2. Put it in a Magic Bullet, or equivalent;
and grind up about a half to an ounce of it
depending on how stoned you want to get.
Consistency of kief is about how much I
    grind mine down to.

I just put it right in the brownie mix, in layers.
Then I follow the directions on the box,
    except I cook at 300*F. Sometimes 275*F.
It takes a bit longer to cook, so I test with a
    toothpick.

That's what I do. Of course, I have the worlds
highest tolerance so use at your own risk. :D

  3. Will do! Is the first step skippable if my AVB is already ground up? I always grind my bud before vaping it.

  4. I try to get it as fine as possible because otherwise
your brownies end up with little lumps of bud
which can be hard to chew.

It also helps to integrate it with the brownie,
or cake mix better than a four piece or two piece
    grinder can get it.

If you don't have a Magic Bullet or equivalent
you could use a coffee grinder, or in a pinch,
    a blender might work.

Oh, don't know what quality weed you get, but
please keep out all stems and or seeds.
Even with a coffee grinder, chewing stems is like
    trying to eat wood.

Anyway hope that helps. I'll check back in a while
so if you have any more questions, ask away.

  5. I have a Ninja blender and food processor. Not sure how similar that is to the Magic Bullet.

  6. Blender is your best bet. Just pour your AVB as close to the blades as possible.
Also, I find a bit of shaking during the process helps.

  7. I haven't tried this yet, but I will soon. Just to clarify, roughly how much AVB (in grams) should I use for one batch of brownies?

Edit: I realized you said a half to an ounce. So less than a half would be insufficient?

  8. I used twelve grams in the batch of brownies I have now,
and I find it a little light for 18 brownies. I usually try for
15 to 18 grams per batch.

But I'm a huge heavyweight, with a massive tolerance.
    So your mileage may vary.

  9. OK awesome. I just weighed my AVB, and I have 42 grams, lol. One concern is that it's mostly dark brown AVB. Does that mean it will be less potent?

  10. Might be. I've never used dark brown AVB.

You might get more of a couch lock high.
Higher ratio of CBD to THC.

    Try it out.

  11. Reporting back. I used 14 g of medium to dark brown (mostly extracted) AVB with a batch of brownies. Cut into 18 pieces. Ate 2 of them. After an hour I barely felt anything, so I thought they were weak. Then I got super sluggish and sleepy until I passed out for 10 hours, lol. So if nothing else, they make a good sleep aid.

  12. I usually do about a 25-28 gram batch of AVB brownies and still have to eat two for a decent effect haha, I know all about the high edible tolerance!

Although my AVB is usually pretty dark when I used to use my VaporBros, but it is definitely lighter with my LSV

  13. I want to try this with my ABV, but I am worried about the plant matter giving me a tummy ache. Do you find this technique of grinding it finely, helps to eliminate that problem?

  14. I've put ground abv in capsules and haven't had any issues.

  15. Gonna make a fresh batch of AVB brownies tonight.
This time I'm using 25 Grams of lightly vaped bud.
It's not brown, but kinda golden.

I haven't had stomach problems with it,
but if that's an issue, you might want to invest
in a Mota Pot, or Easy Butter Maker.
I have one, but I never use it. It might
    help though.

What brand of brownie mix does everybody buy?
I'm partial to the Duncan Heinz Dark Chocolate
    Brownies myself.

Edit: Not Duncan Heinz - Betty Crocker Dark Chocolate
    Brownie mix.

Anyway, the brownies are in the oven.

Edit again: Fresh batch of 18 brownies

  18. I have heard a lot of debate in regards to decarbing and avb or if it is already decarbed from vaping it. I am going to decarb my avb next time and see if I notice any difference but the avb brownies I have made without decarbing have been pretty good so far.

  19. How does one decarb AVB?

How did they turn out? Good effects? I also used Betty crocker (fudge chocolate).

  20. Same way you would decarb your herb, put in a glass dish on a baking sheet in the oven at 240 for about 30-40 minutes covered tightly in foil.
