Are you qualified to give advice??

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by Ms_A_0680, May 6, 2020.

  1. I'm just curious.. How many of you that are giving advice are medically qualified... Or scientifically qualified??? Or y'all just going off what y'all have been told...

  2. So, you are looking for a Dr. of science that grows pot and gives advice on a weed growing site?I imagine a few out there but far and few between.:icgreen: Medically, no advice from me but I swear by my home made CBD oil. Now, any growing advice comes from trial and error. Take all advice you find on line under careful consideration. One persons experience can and most likely will be totally different from the next. And then there are the a-holes that just want to steer you wrong.

  3. I’m totally NOT qualified but I will continue to run my scam and give advice to unsuspecting young gardeners and stoners.

But if I WAS to be qualified, what credentials should I have?

    thank you,

    j

  4. It depends on what your question is about.. I may be a professional :) no matter if someone has been educated in school or just educated through expierience as long as what they are saying is correct who really cares.

  5. IMHO, if you can't start with "In my experience..." you're really just passing on unverified information.

  6. Well, since this is in some kind of bong section, I wonder what medical qualifications one needs to advice about bongs?

If I was a doctor, I would definitely spend my days giving advice to people I do not even know - for free.

  7. There is more to this that just black and white. One can pass verified information based on proper research. Of course you need to link this source for the readers.

Experience is more valuable than being qualified. When it comes to growing at least.
Theoretical knowledge is all good and well, but everything doesn't always go as planned, and people may have noticed things that may not have happened under perfect conditions.
A person may know all the theory, but placed in a situation they haven't experienced before, experience would have been of great value.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it unverified information if a person is currently growing the plant and has experienced the issue, it's an outlying point of data that can be confirmed with running more of the same experiment/grow under the same conditions. Which could be related to running a number of grows in the same tent, getting similar issues.

Foe example; The humidity and temperatures may be different in your area so you may not experience the same problem as someone else even if they use all the same stuff.
Therefore their findings may not be right by you, but it doesn't make them wrong in any way.

I don't know about everyone else but when I read about grows, I always consider the differences between their grow and mine, in all aspects. And if I need to take away pieces of information from that grow, it's done and adapted to how I grow.

I'm a scientist by qualification and profession, and honestly it wouldn't matter if I weren't because everything that I've found out while growing has been confirmed by other growers or just simply proved to be true.

I feel that actually posting without the fear of being corrected is key to providing others with correct information because if you're posting something that's wrong, someone is bound to comment on it... And knowledge is then gained. As opposed to not saying anything at all and continuing to do it wrong.

I guess the important part is who you believe, because there's a lot of misinformation floating around the Web. You should have your own base of knowledge to work from first though (could be done by proper research and reading actual published papers or reputable grows), or else how would you know what's right and what's wrong.

  9. I disagree... You could only call it unverified if someone is making an assumption without actually seeing the physical element. If the physical element emerged, that's verification in itself.

The accuracy of this can then be judged by repetition.

Are you qualified to post on a public forum page? If y’all were you would have posted it in a more pertinent forum than the dabs and bong section. :lmafoe:
But seriously, IMO, you’re better off sorting through the anecdotal advice given by the folks here with 20, 30, and 40 years of experience with cannabis than trying to find a doctor who can give you any better input. Every single doctor I’ve talked with has been brainwashed like the rest of the general public and has no idea of the benefits of cannabis. Hell, most have not even heard of the endo cannabinoid system.
Science, on the other hand, is catching up nicely and seems to embrace it for the most part. There’s plenty of qualified growers here who are ready to bring on the science, backing it up with first hand experience and plenty of white papers. Look at the organic growing section, you’ll find some really enlightening threads in there.
    Cheers:weed:
