I'm thinking about a Whomp It bong I saw on Youtube. Like $195 for a 12" beaker bong. They want that for a regular 12" beaker bong at my local Head shop. This one is some kind of Borosilicate Glass that's supposed to be almost unbreakable. They drop it on tile floors, throw it onto parking lots, and drive big ass nails into wood using it. Just wondering if anyone out there has one or knows anything about them. Also it comes with a magnetic bong cleaner, has anyone used those? I looked and Amazon has them for like 8 bucks. I've always just used salt and alcohol, but this looked pretty cool. Probably going to order the bong but thought I'd ask around first and see what people had to say. Vids on youtube, and a variety of different bongs on their website. Whompitglass. Some get kind of expensive but around $200 for a decent basic bong one sounds reasonable to me. Am I gonna waste my money or is that reasonable?
Borosilicate Glass ? oh yes, I dumped my bedding to a washing machine turned it on came back 5 hours later, and the sheets were in strips, I'd forgotten to remove the bong from the bed and the wash machine ate the bong the bong ate the sheets, phuc the whole deal cost me over $500, unbreakable indeed!!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borosilicate_glass (breast implants too....lol)
The only time I'd ever heard of borosilicate glass was a short documentary explaining the difference in PYREX and pyrex glass. I forget what the original is, the capital letters I think. (or vice versa) The original is borosilicate and the other is tempered glass. They sold the rights to call it the same name with lower case letters in certain countries and that one is made with tempered glass.. The vid shows both being put in boiling water and then into an ice bath. The tempered glass explodes while the borosilicate takes it in stride. And it was sheer chance that I stumbled across the Whomp it videos. I was just amazed at what they do to the bong without it breaking. I'm using a 12" beaker bong at the moment that's working fine, but from experience I know that they don't last forever. Sooner or later I'll drop or break it and I might just get this one now before I actually need it. For some reason (the political climate worldwide) I've been feeling the urge to stock up on useful things and items that might need replaced in the future. I guess it's all part of prepping for the coming societal collapse that seems to be getting closer. No idea how it's all gonna turn out so better safe than sorry. And again if a 12" beaker bong costs $200 and this one is the same price, I might as well give it a try. I'll post an update when I order and give it a try.
Unless U R rich HELL NO! Treat a bong like that & U deserve to have it break. I diy with heavy whiskey glass & with normal heavy handed stoner use U may break a stem but you would have to work at breaking the bottle.
Really intrigued by the durability and features of the Whomp It bong you mentioned. Borosilicate glass is known for its resilience, and the magnetic cleaner sounds like a convenient addition. If it's as tough as the videos suggest, seems like it could be a good investment for peace of mind. Has anyone experienced using one first-hand? Would love to hear about its long-term performance and whether it lives up to the hype. I understand you're interested in exploring financial options. If you're in need of quick cash, you might want to consider a $200 loan. It could provide the financial assistance you're looking for. Since I posted this a while back I talked with my local headshop guy. It seems that most, if not all, bongs are made from borosilicate glass. I don't know if the Whomp it is a different formula or not but after talking to him I decided against getting one for myself.
Not all borosilicate glass bongs are created equal, some are a lot thicker and stronger than others. Whomp It uses 9mm glass and make the bases even thicker than that - they're the thickest bases I've ever seen on any piece.
You're curious if anyone has used this bong or knows more about its durability and performance. Additionally, you're interested in hearing about the effectiveness of the magnetic bong cleaner that comes with it, considering it's priced around $8 on Amazon. tunnel rush
Wow base of my beaker is just 5mm for some reason yet it’s advertised as 9mm glass. I’m afraid one dodo drop its Toast . I. Could not figure out if the ones at Quanset hut were made from borosilicate glass the staff had no clue so I avoided them.
