outdoorgrowman, i feel your pain, but i disapprove your lack of ingenuity. there are some AMAZING threads around here for homemade toking tools, of very elaborate homemade pieces out of the most common objects around a house. triple 8-arm perc'd soda bottles are rampant, and not hard to make. do your lungs, brain, and the rest of your body a favor. first and foremost listen to others in this thread and go get at least a steel socket for a bowl, or just go to a cigarette store/gas station and throw down $5 for a glass bowl, and if you can another $5-10 for a glass downstem. otherwise, im sure you can find a simple glass tube. even if it's broken, it still may retain a tube shape generally and be functional, and much healthier. second, please take my advice and do some searching here on nice homemade pieces, they will provide MUCH nicer hits for you. good luck to ya, man. if you need a bowl/spoon/bong/bubbler that badly, send me a PM, maybe we can work something out glass just should be the only thing being heated up here for you. also, for the aluminum info. i'd still advise against its use, but if you look into it, the harmful chems are not released at temperatures that a bic lighter can create, so it may not be AS BAD as one thinks. i did it 2-3 times (aluminum cans. never wanted to use foil) when i was under the age of 15, knew of the potential risks then, and i hope to never have to again.
Fuck it dude. I did that for years, no shame. To hell with everyone and everything. Get high I loved that I never had to worry about my shit getting found. I made mine out of the recorder I used for grade school(using the whistle piece). I made me from 2 liters, bottles, pvc pipes, metal pipes, whatever I had around. Then trashed it. No, it hasn't. Actually as more evidence about Alzheimer's piles up the less realistic that hypothesis becomes. Aluminum is safe, its just horrible tasting. Second time in two days I've had to explain this stoner myth, lol. The fact that he's using foil touching plastic is horrible, though. That is without a doubt causing him to inhale plastic fumes as aluminum foil heats extremely quickly.
